RKE Head Unit Firmware

Is there a forum on DA's website that would tell me how to do that or must DA provide that information?

Just wanted to thank everyone for the help I was given with this head unit problem. It turns out that my service request to DA resulted in DA sending me an RMA so that they can update my firmware. Keep in mind that I purchased this second hand so for DA to offer this service is admirable. I am a DA supporter.

Just received my head unit back from DA. Works like a charm now. Thanks Eric. I did notice that it is saying there is a firmware update available to a 3.x version but I've seen on this site that the RKE shouldn't be loaded with this one. Would someone advise if this is correct and how I should proceed? Thanks.

OK, from the photo earlier in this thread it looks like a V1 head unit. Those cannot run the version 3.XX firmware. I am sure DA would have loaded the latest firmware that was available for it before shipping it back. What firmware does it say is on it?

Yes it is V1. The current firmware is 2.06 and the upgrade suggested is 3.02. I think I should stay away from 3.02. Let me know.

All this was picked up from various people on this forum. I sold the MLC that came with it. I had no use for it as my lights have a moonlight function.

That sounds good. You can use everything except the NET and for now the RKE head unit with the Archon if you ever decide to upgrade.

Right now I have this connected
1 Archon head unit and power pack
5 PC4's
1 SLX
1 SL2V2
1 SL2
1 HUB
3 DP1's
1 MLC

I also have these that are not hooked up at the moment, but have been
1 PC4
1 PC1
1 ALC
1 SL1

I unhooked them when I was doing something and never got around to joking them back to the system.
I have the RKE, NET and RD1 that cannot be used with the Archon at this time so they are not hooked up.
I am not sure whether the SLX or DP1 module will work on firmware 2.06 since that are newer modules. So check with DA before you get one of those. I know they work on firmware 3.02 on the RKE V2.

Good to know on the DP1. I have Jebeo pumps and thought of the controller for them ever went out I would get that module. But maybe it would make sense to go with the Archon. I have to get this set up first. I'm excited to learn how to program this system and figured this would be a good starting point.

The module you will need for them is the APC and DCI. The DP1 is a dosing pump module.

Oh yes, sorry. I get the abbreviations confused. Do the pump controllers work with V1?

The APC should work. It has been out for several years. The DCI is just a 0-10 volt conversion to Jebao control voltage. Just make sure you get the correct connectors on it for your pumps. I guess some have male and female connectors switched.

One question regarding the HUB. I see there is a power connection as well as the bus connectors. What is the power connector's purpose?

The HUB does have a power input for you to use if you need it. If I remember correctly it is a 9 volt 500ma input so get a wall wart with those specs if you need more power.

Quick question. Can the ORP connection be used for PH? I need 2 PH probes, one for the tank and one for my reactor.
