Alright, so it is acceptable to have only a little more then a trickle of pure? BRS advertises 75 gallons a day, I assumed I would make about 3.5 gallons an hour. Is this pure and waste together?

No, not including waste. Reverse Osmosis works by forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane. So it can only work as fast as your water pressure. If you have abnormally low water pressure look into a booster pump.

The normal recommended waste ratio is 4:1 or 4 gallons of brine or waste to one gallon of permeate or treated water. This is necessary to keep the membrane fabric clean and last as it should.
A Dow Filmtec membrane rated at 75 GPD means 75 gallons of treated water in a 24 hour period at 50 psi incoming water pressure and 77 degrees F water temperature. If your water is colder or pressure is lower the GPD will be less. DO NOT try and blend or warm the water, this is counterproductive since colder water actually treats better so your RO TDSwill be lower and your DI will last longer. If you need more water add a RO booster pump to increase the pressure which will offset the colder water, and the added benefit is the membrane will function even better again as they love pressure.

77 degrees? Why does everyone say to turn on just the cold knob?

Hi guys, I want to thank you all for responding to me so quickly yesterday, and now it its seems I have another problem. I know this is not the right thread for this question but you all seem very knowledgeable and no one has responded to me in the other places I have asked this. Any of your thoughts would be much appreciated!
This saturday I bought a flame angel, and since then he has been hiding behind a rock all the time and not eating. That is not a worry to me as he is a new fish and I understand it takes a couple days for them to get used to the tank. The thing that IS bothering me is that he is breathing pretty hard, and recently (today) I spotted a shiny white (more clear) patch on his side about the size of one scale. It does not look like ich or velvet, I have dealt with both. I know I didn't QT him, but my LFS told me that they had had this fish for about a month now, and was showing no problems, I watched this fish for a while. Yes I understand now this is still no reason not to QT a fish. Any thoughts on what he could be suffering from? I have four other fish, two clowns and two chromis's and they are 100% healthy. Thanks!

77 degrees is just a standard or benchmark so yo ucan compare different manufacturers and models of membranes against each other, cold water only and if you need more or faster water then booste the pressure.
