I agree one should look at what filter type is included, but I have yet to see a 4 stage rodi configured any other way than 1 sediment, 1 carbon, 1 ro membrane, 1 DI. so saying 4 stage rodi would imply that combination. The $139 from h2oscience (exact same one from purelyh2o) is sufficient, and it does come with pressure guage. the membrane is the same as the one most rodi vendors use. if you want different sediment or carbon cartridge, you can always get a different one when time comes to change them. a canister is a canister no matter where you get them, so it makes no sense to pay extra for the same canister cartridge holder.

Canisters are not all the same, many off brands come from China and are not ANSI/NSF or UPC approved so may fail under pressure. Many inferior products are on the market today, including membranes and filters. Do your homework.Purely H2o/h2oscience is one of the more reputable vendors but their $149 Optima system is not quite the same as some like the ProPlus at $149, CSP-DI at $145 or the Buckeye Premium at $169. Better filters , better DI, better flow restrictor and a better RO membrane and a TDS meter in the case of the Spectrapure products and better filters, flow restrictor and a handheld TDS meter in the case of the Buckeye Premium.
It pays to shop around and make sure you are looking at similar systems that will meet your needs.

if someone does not want the trouble of researching, then using one of the premium full service vendors is the way to go (just as with shopping for anything), just pay the premium and be done with it.

if one is motivated to save money, just research how rodi works. it is fairly simple and straight forward and not rocket science. and you will know what to look for when you compare. and you will soon find a lot of add ons just increase the price and are not necessary, and in some cases, it will be like the cheap wine sold at a higher price makes the buyer think they are getting something better.

ebay takes a lot of flack, but I doubt there is anyone that criticized ebay that have not used it to get a good deal. there is a reason why it is still around.

I'll let you have the last word.

Sure ebay has its place and I use it often. I do research what I buy though and stick with reputable vendors in most cases if its something I am going to depend on, there are lots of fly by nights on there too.
Take a look at the features found on this CSPDI RO/DI and then find me another vendor, ebay or otherwise that can match it:

SpectraPure Customer Appreciation SALE! 20% - 50% off

Same with the 75 GPD premium found here:

You can't do it. Quality costs money no matter where you buy it, yes you can add bells and whistles that are not necessary which is why I say stick with a single good carbon block, a single good DI filter, no taste and odor filter, no bag of assorted fittings you will never use, no useless flush valve etc. They all add to the cost but don't give you any better system or better water quality.

Thanks guys i just placed the order for the prectra pure 4 stage unite with DI seems like the best buy for the money.
