RO system

So what is the difference between a RO and an RO/di system? And what is the benefit of them over your house water for your fish tank?
RO is just Reverse Osmosis. Water is typically passed through (by pressure thus the reverse part) a membrane of a particular micron (normally one micron) The water and any thing smaller then one micron will pass through and everything bigger then one micron is rejected as waste water. Some contaminates are one micron or smaller along with inappropriate pressure can allow contaminates through the membrane. Water coming out of my RO unit commonly has a TDS of one and up to as high as three. A DI resin will attract different contaminates according to there natural charge, positive or negative. By running RO water through either a mixed resin DI bed (anion/cation mixed together) or a three stage resin bed (anion, cation then a mixed of anion and cation) you capture the remaining contaminates giving you 0 TDS water.

I currently have the BRS 7 stage RODI system. Due to it being in my office it is portable and stored out of the way when not in use, I would recommend their 7 stage plus system as it comes with multiple pieces of hard wear for multiple ways to connect to your water source, from laundry sink to even under the sink type connectors.

Do you have wheels on the cart? If you made a thread on this or posted more pics somewhere I would love a closer look.

I was just thinking about doing something like this with my BRS RO/DI. It is currently just sitting in a downstairs shower stall and I want to DIY an organizer for it all

Yes there are casters on the cart and everything is heald together with looooooong screws. You have to have the side braces to keep the upright stable and prevent snapping it off when moving the cart around. I have foam I put behind the canisters when moving it to keep them from wiggling too much. I can try and do a "Post build" thread with more photos. Final plans it to have the trash can held in place with something like thin boards (1x probably) and a bulkhead fitting in the side of the can hooked to a pump for ease of pumping water out. I had a similar one in North Carolina where I kept the RODI unit in the closet with the washer and dryer (where I did my water hook up at) and wheeled it out to my 125 gallon ager mixing overnight.
