Rock Anemones Rock

I have four rock nems in a Biocube 29. You can see three in this picture. They are all positioned low in indirect flow. Two are in the sand, two are in the rocks. They don't like being surrounded by sand, they prefer to be in the sanded but against a rock. They have all grown like crazy and eat anything and everything they can. The one in the rock in this picture is my favorite.

Gorgeous! The one in the rocks is my favorite out of those too.

I need to do some space planning before my order arrives. :D

I keep mine in low to medium flow. I feel like anything mediumish and under is fine. They don't seem to like to be blown around. I have some high and some in the substrate, but my tank is relatively shallow...15" or so in a 33gal long, and my lights aren't too intense. I have had more climb out of the rocks down the the gravel than climb up the rocks into the light. That being said the two you see up high have not moved in almost a year. The green skirt one is just about 1" under the surface.

I have 2 in my tank, one on the bottom attached to a large shell and one mid-way up attached to plug. Either haven't moved so they must be happy.

Okay I'm sold. Have lousy LFS here. Where have you found these beauties on line?

The only problem with them on rock is once they are secured and happy you won't have a hope in hell of moving it if needed. particularly if your rock is all glued together like mine.

I have more low flow options at mid-level than bottom level, so that's good to know. Did you need to acclimate it to the higher lighting? I'm worried I won't be able to easily move them if I start them lower in the tank.

Aquarium Art has a bunch on their eBay page. (They are a sponsor here, but I haven't purchased from them yet.)

Aqua SD generally lists a lot in their sale posts. I'm getting some from them next week.

This forum has a lot more women than I realized, but aside from that, it has the most friendly, helpful men and women on any forum I have seen. :)

I think I have two babies that made it to dime sized. I'm so excited! I see tiny babies every so often but I learned not to get my hopes up when they are the size of a small pebble. My hubby spotted one a few weeks ago and I didn't think it was a RFA but we kept watching and then it disappeared. We found it again today and its bigger and now I am sure its a RFA. We also spotted a second while cleaning and looking top down. I had to tell him to stop trying to move the babies he finds from the underside of the parents. It seems that's a sure way to lose them forever. I have 14 adult RFA so no idea who is making the babies. The baby I can get a pic of here is lacking in color since it grew in a hole out of the light. I hope it will color up. IMG_3058.JPG Here's a top down of my garden, thought I would share IMG_3055.JPG . I'm not the best photographer sorry.

Long time lurker finally posting. I have been intrigued by rfa's for years and watching the forms on tips and tricks to make it happen. Some came from club members some from a company out of Florida that seems to be a distributor. I hope to get babies soon. these guys have been in quarantine since last October and I put them in my main 3 weeks ago, coloring up nicely. Pic taken with iphone
