@Ron Reefman is a great resource for RFAs and, although he has stepped away from his computer for a few days, he is normally a regular on R2R so in addition to his very informative thread listed above you will also be able to ask him specific questions. I hope to do more with RFAs soon myself - good luck!

RFA's are great additions to reef tanks. Easy to care for, vibrantly colored and mine (I have 8) have never bothered anything.

one of mine is buried in the sand but has shrunk a bit and its red tentacles have lost a bit of color, any idea whats wrong? i have a huge green one in the same tank that seems like its getting bigger by the day.

Is it getting enough food? Something you can do for the one buried in the sand is to get a PVC endcap and put that in the sand and then put the RFA in the endcap.

more food will help? at one point it didnt really accept food so i stopped feeding it as i read somewhere feeding can stress them out more. its stickier now but im still holding off on food.

Just an observation I have made. When they are fed, they are healthy and open up nicely. I had one that would hide from me, so I couldn't feed it. It stayed small while the other grew about 4 times the size I bought it at. I bought both of them at the same time.

i see, i do feed my huge one almost daily. makes sense. i will start feeding the small one again.
