Rodi Canisters stuck.

I purchased a used 6 stage rodi system from a fellow reefer and I purchased new Filters to replace the old ones. But I only managed to open 1 canister and the rest are stuck. I also broke the tool to open the canisters but I have glued it back and it is working. Does anyone have any suggestions to open the other ones? Thanks

Never had an issue opening mine, but I silicone the o-rings so they don't stick.

You'll probably have to replace the o-rings, but maybe try heating it up?

Call up a really strong friend. You can try buying a strap wrench that is used for plumbing. Cheap and should do the trick.

Try laying them in the sink with some warm water and also double check you are turning the correct way.

Tap around the canisters threads with the filter wrench gently but firm. (Dont crack the plastic)
Hold the housing head with your feet then spin the body off with hands.

Or an extra set of strong hands.

same thing happened with my rodi, ended up where I stopped believing in that saying, ended up YouTubing it just to be sure lol

I feel for you but the relief when you do loosen it will be worth it...will nearly worth it

Ok, You can use a auto filter wrench like this too.
It wont break and most auto
Stores carey them.

By the way. If you grip the canister towards the bottom, youll have more torque leverage when spinning. Might be what you need to break the seal.
