Trying to figure out if I can get away with 4 or 5 stage RODI or if I have to get a 6 stage.

I want the 75gpd 5stage premium plus from BRS

My TDS is 285 from my hose outside and
0.1-.5 total chlorine

.3-.6 copper

Thoughts ?

My opinion, Yes always go bigger no matter your needs is how I see it, I have 11 stage lol but I have 200tds+ incoming , its overkill but also saves the filters from needing changed as often, I run 3 carbon blocks with two of them usually for chlormines.

Thank you for this !

I believe I have about 45-55 PSI but I can get a pressure gauge at lowes.

I need to run the line from water source to RODI for 10-15’ is this too much ?

Should be fine. Mine is probably 20' from the source and the system works fine. I do have a booster pump but my line pressure is only about 40psi

Currently in process of cleaning containers . They were used for apple sauce so they smelt strong but after 2 rinsates of white vinegar the smell is 1/2 as bad

Worse case I just need to get a booster pump.

I am trying to decide if I need 1/2 or 3/4 python to shoot 40-50’ of water from Mixing station. Using 1000gph Blue line pump

I wouldn't treat those dip strips as gospel, and it's pretty hard to tell those increments apart.

If your city doesn't use chloramine, then a standard 5 stage with 2 carbon blocks will be fine. If they use chloramine, I would add an extra carbon block meant for chloramine.

No big deal.

My plan is to have 2 containers in the garage one for mixing salt and one for rodi.

Sometimes I’m sure it might get 95+ in the garage

Will it be bad to do water changes once the containers cool down later in the day or doing a water change in the morning

(I’m concerned about alk and other parameters)

Will the mixing container evaporate too much to contain proper levels being at that temp

What temp will you be your tank at, and how large is it?

How much of a change do you plan to do? (10,20,30%,etc)

Depending on your answers you may or may not need to wait to perform the change, it will also depend on the day and ambient temp of the water inside the storage containers.

Properly sealed you wouldn't have any worries here given your turning over at a consistent rate.

Tanks temp will depend on outside temp. I would do water changes as it cools down or I would do them in the morning so they’re already cool. Like every Saturday morning for example.

10-20% changes

Would I need to keep the mixing pump off in the salt mix container when not mixing

So I am trying to buy my RODI unit, going to get a pressure gauge to know if I need a booster or not however , my city water shows what the water contains . Could only find 2018

Shows only 1.25 of chlorine

If this is true , only the 5 stage is necessary. Right ?

My water out here seems to be cleaner than most of florida from what I’ve seen. My parents water (in the same city) with a well has 130 TDS from the faucet.

Most people in the U.S. can get away with a 4 stage! I’d say that’s a great starting point. Anything more than like a 6 stage is overkill and just wastes a lot more water in my opinion. The 5 stage from BRS or really any of their RODI’s are great choices and you can always upgrade in the future because every additional stage is going to produce more waste water especially if you have average or below water pressure with no pump and is going to be more expensive. Assuming you don’t live in a place like Mississippi that has a water crisis right now…and even places like that I’d say can get away with a 5-6 stage.

Probably.

Personally, I would call the city and confirm that they don't use chloramine.
If not, then 1 sediment ->2 carbons ->RO->DI should be fine

Tomorrow after I get my psi gauge I will post back here

I need to find out if I need a booster or not.

I am definitely leaning towards the 5stage premium plus.

Is there anything specific y’all recommend buying with the unit ?

Water saver worth it ?

Booster is probably best regardless so i can set what I want and make less waste.

Do I need the BRS booster kit or just the booster
I'm not sure what the booster kit includes but if it includes the power supply and the cut off switch then yes, then you can put a float shut off on your r.o containers and this will stop the pump from constantly running when water level is full.
