How many TDS meters do you have and where are they?

80 gallons may be the limit for the resin you are using. Are you using the supplied resin from purchase or another brand?

I tested distilled water it comes up as 2 I was up as 2 I get 400 going into the unit and just last week there were reading 0 and now coming out after about 80 gallons it's coming out a 167 I bought a 3 pack kit I do believe it's not the exact brand

80 gallons is low, but at ~400 incoming I'm assuming you have a post RO TDS of ~8 (assuming 98% rejection).

DI resin is not equal across the board.

Do you flush your unit prior to the water going through your membrane or do your just start making rodi immediately? I flush mine for a cpl minutes at least prior to making clean and waste water

Guessing you don't know how many gallons your resin is rated for? The manufacturer probably doesn't supply that value.

Are you running single stage?

add a sediment filter

Assuming they have the unit setup correctly adding a sediment isn't going to prolong the life of the DI resin. It may help with membrane and carbon block longevity depending on how much sediment they get from thier source.

Are you familiar with TDS Creep. It is the name for the high TDS water that EXITS the RO Bladder when water starts to flow through it after some pause. If you start and stop your RO unit often, you just won't get much life from the DI Resin.

I use a Spectra Pure 5 Stage. Tap water here is in excess of 400 ppt. When I tested it, I got about 6 ppt out of the RO unit after it has run for a couple minutes. I get 0 TDS after the mixed bed DI resin module for hundreds of gallons. I don't let the RO unit run before letting the water go to the DI Resin, but I always run it for long periods when I run it.

Can you please tell me the exact replacement resin you use I will buy it immediately

WhT is the resin u are using I can't rigors it out on that page

I would recommend the hi capacity Max Cap as the best, but any of the Spectrapure resins are going to out perform what you have now. Especially the no name branded ones on Amazon that you find for $10.

It may not be the resin at all. I use the cheap stuff off Amazon and it works just as well as any of the others. To make an accurate assessment we need to know the tds of the water coming out of your RO membrane. If that is high that could be your problem. Also, if you are on well water then CO2 could be your problem.
