Rodi problems

I blot an additional 3 chamber system thus turning mine into a 7 chamber system that way I'm gonna go with a part AB &c resin and I'm gonna have 2 carbon blocks

Good start, just remember to purge everything at install, don't flush your carbon blocks to the RO membrane, and purge your RO at startup to eliminate high levels of TDS at startup going to the DI.

The below won't apply 100% but it's close, purge and drain lines are your friend, and they are quick and easy, take the time to set them up.

If you have 200+ incoming this is what your set up should look like and never put more than 3-4tds thru your resin...but thats my opinion...makes water so clean it doesn't taste good

I've been considering the BRS 6 stage, 75 GPD unit.
RO/DI water from my LFS works out to 25 cents/gallon with their rewards punch card.
At $300+ for the RO/DI unit, seems like it'd take like 2.5 years to pay itself off and that's not even counting the consumables (filters, resin, etc).

How much is your time and gas worth and wear and tear on moms mini van.. get the rodi unit now and save the kicks in the pants for something else....

I turned my force stage into a 7 stage do you think I will need to have a booster pump if pump if so where do I put it can you give me a run down of what you are if you could pee on me

What is your pressure now feeding into the RO housing

Start with a press Guage on your r.o membrane and see what you pressure is, I run it at 82psi I have 60 incoming from city water it comes in a about 285tds

So if you get a booster pump put it just before your membrane you don't want high pressure thru first stages. Just the r.o membrane and the d.i

I bleed off the r.o water for about a half hour(depending on the last time used) and test chlorine/chlormines and bring it down to 3tds before it goes into any d.i resin.

There's a few things to do as far as order but it takes about 10- 30min before I start producing finish water.

Sending RO water to drain for 30 minutes is probably excessive. In our tests with a 75 gpd Filmtec membrane, TDS Creep water was fully purged after about 60 seconds.

Tds is 387 ---415 coming in and 108 after membrane

Yes 30 min is excessive, just talking about a purge, but thats in total from my starting flush to producing storage water.

I flush for probably 5_10 min with just normal water pressure thre the sediment filters and carbon blocks to flush weeks of standing water.

Then I put pressurized water thru the r.o membranes with the bypass filter until my first tds meter drops to about 10 tds then I engage the bypass off, and run thru the membrane and let that resaturate for about 10 min then I will take a chlorine and chlorimines test I then if its passable with flow thru my 4 d.i resins until all old water trapped in those are flush out which take about 10 min maybe.

Then I start capturing water that I save.

So yes to your answer 30 min for a flush is excessive but, thru the steps I outlined maybe my process is different then your testing but its how I treat my water, and how I feel comfortable. I replace all my filters regularly and way before needed just another thing I do that testing "disproves"
