RODI unit Tips and Placement?

Using 350 and 14 before DI gets you 96%. That is OK but not great. I think most brands guarantee 95%. A filmtec membrane should get you around 98%. Just depends on how you feel about replacing di more frequently ($$$). At a tds of 14, your DI (assuming you have the normal canister type) will get you around 300 gallons of 0 tds water. If you got a membrane that was doing 98% that would get you a tds of 7. At 7, your di would make a little over 600 gallons of 0 tds water. As I stated earlier, I get my 450 tds water down to 4 with my Spectrapure membrane, which means I can get around 1100 gallons of 0 tds water from a DI canister.

If you are on city water that has chloramines then you should invest in more carbon filters. Chrlamines are chlorine bonded with ammonia, it is harder to break that bond and it produces ammonia.

I dont know why more people dont highlight this, but it is important.

Would an increase in pressure get me lower TDS before it goes into the DI? Also how different is 0 TDS to 1 TDS?

Higher pressure, or warmer water would increase the effectiveness of your RO. It is probably just easier to have more DI resin on hand.

Thanks after running for a little bit today it's now down to 10 before DI. I flushed multiple times today which helped to get it down again, which gave me 10.

Depends on what is causing the 1 tds. It could be something harmless or it could be something that kills your corals. Most prefer not to take the chance.

Thank you for all the help!
