hey Guys,
I have used both of these foods, I like them both. Has anyone done a comparison between these two brands before?

I use Rod's all the time but have never tried Rogger's. Not sure why...lol. What has been your experience with both? Any major differences?

im the opposite. i used rogger's all the time. My fish and coral reacted to it like it was the best thing ever lol.

I do like them both, however I believe my fish react very different towards roggers, a little bit crazy, the only thing I don't like about it is it is quite chunky, although thats probably a good thing.

I've used Rods for 2 years, fish and corals love it. A month ago had to order 7 new light fixtures and to get the free shipping I needed to spend another $18 so I bought Rogers food. The corals seem to react the same as they do with Rod's. The fish go nuts with either one! I like them both alot and will continue to use both. I just change between the 2 every other day.

I was using rod's and I tried rogger's and I will not go back! I used rod's for about a year and I have been using rogger's for about 3 months. My fish have never looked healthier and my coral are so bright and grower better then when I was using rod's.

Something about him being from Florida has something to do with it as well, oh and I've heard home dude is a chef..

I have been wanting to try out Rogers. Anyone else with opinions on these two.

I've been using Rod's for 5 years now and will never change!!! Why fix something that's not broken ;)

Here are the ingredients for Rod's:
Shrimp, Scallop, Oyster, Clam, Squid, Octopus, Perch, Green Nori (porphyra sp), Red unroasted nori (porphyra sp) Mysis, Krill, Pacific plankton (Euphausia sp.) Brine shrimp, Frozen red cyclops, Fish eggs, Oyster eggs, Golden pearls (all sizes), Broccoli, carrot, Garlic, Selco, Astaxanthin (Haematococcus pluvialis), Beta-meal (Dunalliella Salina), Freshly harvested rotifers, freshly hatched baby brine shrimp.

Here is the ingredient list from Rogers site:

The thing I liked about Rods was the addition of the nori, rotifers, oyster eggs and golden pearls.

Just looking at the list of ingredients its obvious!
RODS ALL DAY BABY!

Rod's Original, Herbivore, Coral Mix, Fish Eggs, and Pacific Plankton are what's in my freezer and what go in my tanks.

Thanks for the insight guys, knew I could count on you. I also like the fact that rod's adds nori, rotifers, oyster eggs and golden pearls. roggers does add cyclopeez and aloe vera, I suppose its in case the fish get MH burns;)
Always wear protection fishes

Rogger put the nori in one batch and said his opinion on it is that once it gets wet it starts to break down. Think about when you put a sheet in the tank. It'll last a couple minutes before its all gooey and rolling around the tank. aka when you mix it with the food it gets wet and starts decomposing. once frozen it would stop, but roggers food is all about the 100% best for your fish/corals. why would you want something that's starting to decompose in the food? I would have to agree with him and not put it in the food.

I like the fact that everything is natural in Rogger's food. No preservatives or no items that are "fattened up" to be sold. Everything is caught in the ocean and is consumable by human's. In fact at MACNA, he was giving away food samples that were made using the same exact items that he uses in his fish food. If it's safe enough for us to eat that it should be pretty good for our fish! :)

Plus he's local to me so I don't have to pay shipping for the food. (but he does have a pretty good deal for people that need some food shipped to them) I have seen horrible ick outbreaks cleared up within a couple days just from feeding rogger's food. I believe the aloe-vera is to help with the coloration in the fish, although I could be wrong.

Never ever had an issue with the nori in the Rods. As far as Rogers clearing up the ich, it's the feeding period, not that it was Rogers. You could have fed them Rogers, Rods or Joes food....

I cannot agree with this. The person who had the ich outbreak was feeding them something else. Once someone told them to use Rogger's and they did after about 2 days the ich was gone. I've seen it in a couple local tanks. :)

My point is look at the list of ingredients, Besides aloe, there is nothing in there that could possibly be some magical cure for ich. Heck besides the Aloe, Rods has everything that Roggers has. I have had two ich outbreaks in 6 years. This was before I ever fed Rods. I had a purple tang and Blue hippo that were covered in it and just sitting on the bottom of the tank. I never lost a fish and the only thing I did was ramp up my feedings. That is a HUUUUGE leap you are taking with your conclusion that Roggers cures ich.

It's a miracle....... the foods are basically identical. Not sure how u can make such a crazy statement. LOL. What foods were these fish being fed before? Pellets/flakes?
