I know this thread is old. But the black in the center also depends on lighting, I never see a black disc under my reefbreeders led which is very violet heavy. I see it clearly under kessil. Also the more light they get the better their coloration and disc gets darker. You photo has the dark red tentacles and the webbing of a black widow. If it has a dark purple/red foot it prolly is one. The foot should be a tad darker than coraline algae.
Truth is ppl even retailers confuse them coz they dont know what a real bw looks like. I got mine from a guy who sold it to me as a rose and for years I thought it is a rose. But deep inside I knew it is different and prettier than the rose lol.
