I'm sorry. What? it's help if your experiencing RTN/STN. it's proven... help me understand your post.
For all I know, the title suggest you need help, and like most people I'll not enter a link with no further explanation of it contents.

It'll be better to add some explanation, an intro at the very least as well as to make the title more obvious ("Tips for people experiencing STN/RTN" for example), or quoting the content in whole with the link serving as a source.

Just my 2 cents.

well it's from Reef Moonshiners. so considering I've been here a few minutes....why would I post something nefarious??? it says RTN/STN help. I honestly figured that it would post the picture, of RM but it didnt. so there's that. I am not taking it down, because it does work, and sorry you are offended by that.

I wasn't offended at all, but it seems like you are.
Have a great day!

You might not post anything nefarious. But if someone hacked your account, they might. Your original post looks like the kind of link that spammers use to direct people to compromised websites to gain control over their browser or computer.

Even if the link is legitimate, to DanyL's point, it's a pretty low-quality post. Are you asking for RTN/STN help? Do you want to help people with RTN/STN? Do you want to know if the information in the link will help you with RTN/STN? Do you want to discuss the legitimacy of the approach in the link with regards to helping with STN/RTN? Do you have pictures of STN/RTN in your tank you want us to look at using the link? All unclear from the information you provided.

I think the OP is sharing a link for a method to help save corals that might have RTN/STN issues.

Have you used it?

For the future, this is not a good way to start a thread, obviously.

Better would have been:

"Having RTN or STN issues? Here's a possible treatment..."

Honestly, I thought I had. I backed out and even tried to start over... I am using it right now. and so far my P04 has gone down, so I am watching that...and I have a LOT of PE. but you do have to watch your parameters

OK, let us know how it goes.

My only experience with witchhazel is growing a witchhazel tree in my backyard. lol

yeah, I am nervous, but the people on RMS state it will work well...so I figure I can at least try it. I have 2 that have RTN and I will probably lose 1 for sure. so I will keep you all posted.

when I tried to post it, for whatever reason, it messed up. I can see what it did, I cannot however, delete it. I dont know why. Thanks for getting it fixed. I was only trying to offer help...which nothing else I wrote, even posted :confounded-face:

It simply confused everybody because no one was able to understand your intentions.
No harm was made.

Hope your coral will feel better and recover, tissue narcosis is a nasty thing to deal with.

Having just done the RMS witch hazel treatment I can offer some observations that may be of help to those considering it.

Back ground:
Off and on STN of about 10% of my colonies in a 150 SPS dominant tank.
Alk runs 8.5-8.9
Ca 425
Mg 1400

NO3 15
PO4 0.10-0.15
The nutrients are checked with a hanna.
pH typically runs 7.95 on low end,
tops out at 8.30ish on high household CO2 dependent.

Did a 10 day TX used the bio digest in the am
Witchhazel at night when lights were off
Did the double first dose.

Observations: pH dropped between .10-.15 on both ends see photo, easy to see when treatment ended.
NO3 dropped to 5 a week in
PO4 dropped to 0

STN appears to have been halted as no new areas are affected and no new colonies affected.

Interesting is that frags of affected colonies seem unaffected by the STN(less likely a nutrient issue IMHO).

Take away watch the nutrients and pH and expect them to drop.

Exactly the same results I have seen. My P04 dropped also, from .20 to 0.08 which is good. I am doing a 14 day tx, and have lost initial colonies. I did manage to save a small piece, so that's good! also, another colony that had what I suspect is RTN/STN...has halted. no ill effects on anything, infact corals look better than before tx!
No issues with CUC either.

Thanks for the info!

That pH part, at least, is easy to understand as all reports that I could find on the internet (each individualyl of little expected chemistry reliability) report that witchhazel has a pH between 3 and 5.5.
