Can’t really find anything that would fit on the bottom of my tank as a refuigium except a rubber made box from waltmart would this work as a refuigium under my tank ? Will mainly use it to grow Chaeto and control nutrients will glue on a plexiglass in it to hold a filter sock . But will it work or I need a tank ?

I’ve seen many people use rubber containers as their refugiums/sumps with a bunch of live rock and chaeto. Many fish stores keep their live rock in rubber containers as well. Therefore I don’t see why it would be a problem.

They work just fine, just make sure to get the Rubbermaid" brand and not a knock off, they are made tough.

is there a way to support my reef that is 54 gallons with a hang on back refug?
i already have a hob filter and hob skimmer the aqua pro urchin on it

You can make pretty much anything work for a sump. I have a 17g Rubbermaid container as my sump on a 20 long tank. I didn't do any chambers in it. Water comes in, lots of rock, a heater, and return pump.

Get some pictures up for us. We'll help you get a sump set up!

If Your handy, You could build a custom fit sump with plywood & paint with aquaculture safe paint or fiberglass .

That is the tank I am using and the stand
I already have the over flow box and everything just need to figure out what I can use under there :(

I am a girl I don’t know anything about building stuff :( and they charge me to much to build a custom one

You need to hang that strip on the inside back of the stand. Usually they have a couple slots for a screw head to fit into. You really only need one screw to hang it so it is off the bottom and you have a drip loop.

You could get a 10gal tank from Petco to use as a fuge to fit in there.

Oh and ditch the hydrometer and get a refractometer. Hydrometers are always off

Not if you put a ball valve or gate valve on the inlet to the fuge. Just need to get it equal to the return. You could also make a reactor instead like the one posted above from MD. And a HOB fuge would work as well. No worries about it overflowing as it drains right back into the tank.
