RubensReef 75G in-wall Build Thread

That is a familiar sight! We replumbed our entire house so I can empathize. By the time you finish you will be confident enough to be ready to start!

Oh, and good job on the nice straight trench! :)

Thanks a lot and thank you guys also for the encouragement.

Well, I think the project will have to wait a little longer. An unexpected house repair just comes up. I bought my house in 1996 but was made on 1959 so you can imagine how those galvanized pipes are going to be

That sucks spyder. Well when you do get back at it, keep is posted and good luck my friend

Looking good, cant wait to see the final product!! Nothing looks better then an in wall...

Thanks. Well, I already fix the whole nightmare. Now working on painting the walls. Basically to keep going with the project I just need to find a 75g gallon drillable or jump on a 90g reef ready on my LFS but will cost a little more... around $400.

Are the marine land 75s drillable? I had only awhile ago (never drilled) but I think I got it for like $175

That's what I though. I went to PetSupermarket and they have it for $149 but they told me they don't know if is tempered or not and I went to the marineland website to confirm that but they don't have the PDF file that include if the tank has tempered glass and wish one, the bottom or all sides.

A video to check if it’s tempered. I would call their corporate office and ask also..

Man, I called Marineland a while back to get their answer and still waiting. I was about 20min waiting and give up. I will try again later.

Lol then I wouldn’t buy from them. One thing that turns me away from a company is bad customer service.. if you’re a good salesman maybe you can talk your LFS down to price match (or get close) to the marine land 75

Well, that's what I did. I went to my local LFS and they have the Aqueon 75 but is all tempered so they offer me the 90g marineland reef ready for $400 but that's $250 more. So I may have no other choice to get the 90.

That 90 reef ready will be pretty awesome! You should just do it. Is the 90 RR internal overflow/s with dursos?

P.S plus you can’t go wrong with a bigger tank hahah. I would be justifying it to myself like, well more water volume equals more stability, plus more room for fish (tangs) and corals. And now I’m at a 300 that isn’t even fully cycled and I want a 500 already lol this hobby is the death of me.

That's right. YEs, the 90 comes with the plumbing with the internal overflow. That's what get me little scare. Don't know how that works with the plumbing going thru the bottom.

I personally don’t like it, but it’s extremely common. I wouldn’t worry to much about it. Just make sure those bulk heads are nice and snug.
Is this the tank?

yep. I would like the overflow in the middle like the 75g reef ready.

Exciting build,...making me want to rip the house apart and start building my own "in the wall" tank. I would love to have a house one day where the wall is nothing but a fish tank. Millionaire style!! Does anyone want to list me on their will? Keep up the good work man--> following along!

Thanks @Mcdy. Restarting the project pretty soon.

Will you be able to make it over to MACNA even for a day on the exhibit floor for a little inspiration?

Just a little update on the fish room upgrade. Restroom is ready for use, floor is done. Now I’m getting the utility sink and a 36” cabinet. I will add another electrical outlet on the bottom by the sump and another one on the left side just in case. Little by little but is coming... :)
oh, sorry for the mess..;)
