Safe and Easy DIY way to remove Nems

have you ever tried to make a cave of sponge with several holes to help remove multiple nem's which have covered a large rock. When I moved from previous location, had 6 to 8 nem's now they reproduce every full moon. have one Large rock which may have 70 to 100+ rbts. have given away 65 to 75 already. few months later hAD ALL BEEN replaced. finally getting sticks/acros to grow....need space. $ager to try!

As long as they have to go through the cannon.

One of my anemones had infiltrated an area that I didn't want him in. And his foot was deep in a crevice, so I couldn't reach it. Aimed a power head at him for several days, but that didn't work. Then I tried the neme cannon, and within 24 hours the anemone had climbed up to the top of the pipe!

Haha worked for me too. I have since learned anenomes aren’t as fragile as I thought after cutting 20 colorados and prying them quickly with my hands

I don't think it would matter to much, as long as the pipe is long enough to deprive the nem of the light source.
I used 40 mm pvc for my bta's that would have been around that size. Make sure to angle the pipe slightly so no direct light can get in.

I can always turn the light off that's above them. I'm trying to break down the tank

This method worked for me in a very tricky location. I had to remove a huge, 12" BTA in a very difficult crevice that I had no real access to. I ended up having to use a ton of sponge and ~10" of tube to get him out. Eventually, he made his way out and split into two during the process.

Will definitely use this going forward if needed!

The final one took about two weeks to chase down but I eventually got it safely removed. For reference, this one is about 12 inches of 2” dia piping.

This is gonna be my last resort… had tried blasting with power heads… no success… Ice no success…

Just wondering… what is the max duration to implement this method to call it quit before any harm done to the Nem?

Could somebody chime in on this?

What kinda Nem? I removed 9 BTA from my tank two months ago. The longest I had to wait was 3 hours. If it's taking longer, turn the pipe so it's not facing the light as much.

I will say I tried removing a RFA and left it for a week with nothing. It did loosen it's grip on the rock and made it fairly easy to remove.

It is the green nem with orange tip… it used to be there… now suddenly it went to the back of the tank… that poor Nemo could not host it anymore…

Before putting the Pipe and sponge… I should make it retract 1st right? so that the retracted Nem could fit nicely in the Pipe right?

I might need to use a 90 elbow since space is tight
