Salinity and Acclimation from LA/DD

But my point is , the science backs up the use of lower salinity in both propigation, quaretine and transport for theses reasons.

Acclimation is just that. Acclimation. To both salinity and ph.

I'm not sure what your getting at with low salinity, all I said is I'm not acclimating instead of acclimating. Also, definitely another topic of discussion please. I'm trying to poll people on LA and DD salinity on arrival, not argue whether it's better to acclimate or not. Thanks!

Re read the articles. It may change your mind.
Slow changes in a reef tank salinity levels are far different. That effects alkalinity and other parameters as well.

Alkalinity variations are not my concern, thanks.

DD 1.025 today ph 7.9$ and not a trace of ammonia from a 6inch angelfish. I only checked because of this topic I acclimate my fish to what I keep it at and when I quarantine I start them out at a lower salinity anyways

So DD seems pretty consistent at 1.025, which is what the old threads said. Anyone buy from LA recently and measure the salinity/S.G.?

I ordered a fish and shrimp from LA a few months ago. The fish came in at 1.018 and the shrimp was around 1.024-1.025. I have also ordered coral from DD and both times it was 1.025.

All the bags for the fish I just opened from LA (a total of 7 different bags) all of them were in the area of 1.019. One was pretty close to 1.021 and one was 1.018. I think if you set up your qt for 1.019 you'd be in good shape....I on the other hand...have to make some adjustments. SMH
