Salinity

Seems many suggesting a better tool for measuring.

I'd just add, get a small kitchen scale(if you don't have one) and weigh your salt when mixing, not measure with cups/etc. You should still test, but unless you made a mistake weighing(forgetting to zero out the container you use for exampe ;D ).. you'll find your salinity is always dead on.

Not to hijack the thread but I have been wondering about weighing over measuring. My question is wouldn't the weight change over time because of the salts ability to absorb moisture? For example, I have a 50l dehumidifier running constantly and is set to 35% humidity, but it never goes below 45% in the room for some reason (my guess window seals, air conditioning, tank, etc. all at once). And I've noticed that the top of my container will begin to clump when I am getting to about half way through my container, so it's absorbing enough moisture even with only being open maybe 1-2 minutes when mixing for my WC and I leave my measuring cup inside to avoid unwanted added moisture. Wouldn't that effect the weight of the salt?

Only time salinity has been off for me when weighing was due to not zero'ing out the container first. I've not noticed an issue with weighing myself :)
