I added the poll, but could only think of a few salt brands. If you want others added, I could probably do that... I think.

I'm Meredith :)
Oops... Embarrassing  I knew that

Any way you can edit my post? Don't need the whole family to know I slipped up. My grandma use to do that when she was flustered with one of us, 5 names would come out her mouth before she got the right one. We could gauge how mad she was by how many names came out before the right one.. Lol
So sorry Re... I mean Meredith

I saw a significant difference switching from IO to Fritz!!! I will never go back Fritz has given my corals new life and thriving . As for prices it's not to bad where I live. $50 per box

I currently use HW Marine mix, but will be making the switch to Fritz once my box runs out. I'm switching mostly because me LFS carries Fritz, but I also like that it mixes in at a slightly lower dKH that is more on par with where I am trying to keep mine.

You use regular purple IO & just dose to get levels straight? OR reef crystals orange IO
Purple / dose if needed.

No matter what brands I've used over the years, I always check the big 3 when I open a new box or bucket and mix to 1.025 for the first time.

If dosing is a bother then Fritz RPM is a really good salt mix but there's being people reporting that after they mix and let it stand it turns cloudy overnight. I never had that happen with the RPM but I always let my mixing pumps run until I used it.

Can you add aqua forest? I see that becoming a popular brand with a lot of theor items. Thanks.

AquaForest Reef Salt since, switching to AF I have had great results over other brands. I also use the AF balling products too.

What about the salt do you like?

Wow, this has really taken off sinse last night !
So, we don't really need another thread, or should we ?

It's great that someone listed some of the salt brands, but there's a lot more that I wanted to include, even if no one uses them, it still brings them at least, mentioned.

How do we add them now ?

I would apprecite if someone is faster than my typing, here is a list of others, that can be posted.

I had been using IO for my system and it works fine but want to try something else to find out if I was missing something. So now I'm trying Aqua Forest Reef Salt.

All ive ever used is Red Sea. When they started the Red Sea Coral Pro, I switched. When Im out of salt mix im going to try Aqua Forest too.

I started with RC, but eventually switched to regular old IO. I didn't like the alk swings on water change day. I run my alk normal ocean....target 7.5. My only interest is to do water changes with something close to regular ocean water. IO fit the bill. Between its long history, quick turnover, and price, it can't be beat.

Dosing pumps take care of maintaining steady alk and calc numbers.

Yes, to anyone that want's to add a salt company to the poll. Even a salt that's never talked about.

Remember to spell out the salt brand, as not everyone is a seasoned reefer and knows abbreviations to them.

Started using reef crystals, switched to Red Sea coral pro. Got a bucket 97% full for $35 from someone getting out. I like the way coral pro mixes better, doesn't leave any residue on my bucket or equipment. It mixes very fast, for my system 65 gallons total a bucket will last me a good while. I'll probably stick with coral pro now.

Those are the exact reason I have been using IO and it's done a great job. However I wonder if I could be missing something in regards to micro elements profiles with a "reef" salt. RC according to their description on the website says it includes more micro element vs IO for more demanding corals. This leads me to think that it's possible that a reef salt could give me more. That's why I'm trying AF Reef Salt now.
