I am currently using reef crystals but am hearing that there is a lot better stuff for the same price. What brands and does anyone have any good links?

I always went back to Reef Crystals, tried and true IMO

I've been using Coralife for the past few years and have had zero issues with it. It is around $49.99 for a 200lb box online with free shipping. It works for me and the price is good, so maybe give it a shot? Are you having any specific issues or just curious if you should be using somehthing else?

Will be following along, getting ready to start up my first tank and ordered reef crystals, but someone had mentioned that there had been problems with it in the past. Would like to hear others opinions and experience.

just switched from IO to reef crystals, so far no problems with the salt. mixes VERY easy.

The only problem I have with reef crystals is the layer of powder it leaves on the glass and everything, its only happened at tank startups, should I be cutting it with instant ocean for a tank startup? I like the reef crystals but I was thinking if there was something better for cheaper I would give it a try. The other thing that concerns me is theres so much calcium in the reef crystals that by the time I was done putting additives in my calcium level was up around 900.

I use red sea. reef crystals contains EDTA a chemical used when making the slat in order to keep the elements in the salt. Red sea does not use EDTA they go back afterwards and add the correct amounts. Crystals always made my skimmer go crazy from the EDTA, and would leave this brown film on the walls of my mixing container. never had this problem with red sea

I use Reef Crystals, but have been debating on changing to Red Sea Coral Pro.

I used to use oceanic which is the same thing as coralife and it was good for a while but i could only get it at petsmart in the 90 gallon size. I just recently switched to red sea coral pro and I'll never use anything else again. My water is clearer and my corals pop a lot more and are growning nicely.

Sent from somewhere using something.

I've used most salt brands out there, in the end IO seems to be the most consistant, second only to hW which costs twice as much. RSCP = MASS STN for me.

Same with me. Quite a few people in my local club have reported cyano issues with Red Sea Coral Pro. Anybody else experience this?

I use reef crystals but would switch to red sea coral pro if any one carried it around here. I am curious about the cyano issue to.

cyano? i just posted something about a cyano outbreak in my tank. oddly enough it was the same time i switched to reef crystals. there were some other factors involved though so it may not be.....

I recently switched from Seachem Salinity to H2Ocean DD solution! When i mixed Salinity my water mixed cloudy every time, I like the H2Ocean alot!!

I never had any cyano issues. have been using for about a year before that it was instant ocean and bright well. I did have one out break but it was due to sun light getting past a curtain... Fix the curtain, no cyano
