Go buy a cheap LED from lowes. I think they are less that 10 bucks. Just make sure they are less than 7k in color spectrum. I bet your chaeto will start to grow

I had a cheap light over it, kinda a 5k-7k look and nothing(IMO) growing other than the pod population (which isn't high,yet). My other fuge life has exploded though, kinda remind me of a swarm of tiny knats(?) at a BBQ. I can't remember their names.
I just grabbed the ball of cheato an hour ago and it might be growing. I might have been telling a lie (not on purpose,lol). It's more like the size of a small watermelon now. I think I shouldn't have added the 1.5 inches of sand with it. I'm considering pulling it with the DT sand and putting a mj1200 in the chamber for a tumbling cheato. Thoughts? Too much flow?

I see. Mine doesn't tumble at all but has a lot of flow through it. I turn it over about once a week just to keep the bottom growing.

Yep. Sounds like I tossed it hoping for the best. I'll keep rolling it until I get a power head for it.

I think I might try one that came with the 29 BC. I think its like 200gph, or less. I'll start here and see. I appreciate it though.
Right now, I've got 2xwp40's, 2 x no name 3200 gph, and 2 x no name 1600 gpg running. So... 15000 ++ gph atm in the tank!!! Too much,lol??

Ha,ha. Thanks Ryan.
Btw, seachem PO4 test was reading .50 so no3po4x seems to be working. I'm gonna reduce the mL dosage so i don't strip it to nothing. Still waiting on positive signs from the acros.

Good plan. I measured mine today and it was at .12. I'm running chemi-pure elite to help lower that a little bit. I'd like to see .08 or less...
I upped the flow in my pellet reactor today to help bring my nitrates down as today they were at 0.25 when measures. Id like to see barely detectable!

Sounds great. I have been running a small bag of gfo too to assist the no3po4x. Maybe half a dose of the liquid and keep the gfo. We'll see.
Sitting here watching UF @ Kentucky and watching the fish. My female is aggressively chasing my male blue jaw. Yep, guarding her clutch of eggs, again. Might try and throw the eggs info the fuge and see what happens.

Awesome. I was watching a few games today but mainly watching my tank as I have not been home in two weeks. I need to read up on that Red Sea program you are using; nitrate/phosphate X....

Good deal. I started to reduce my dose today. Went from 30mL to 20mL and test later this week.

You have no idea,lol. I reached to the bottom of the can (a full size brute trash can) to see how much sand I removed. Why? I have no idea why I couldn't wait,lol. All kinds of junk was stuck to my arm after that. Sometimes I amaze myself!!

Thanks Matt. I shut the flow off in the tank and started pulling sand. Never seen a cloud while disturbing the bottom, but if the water was that dark, I could only imagine what the real number is in PO4. Looking to get more salt this weekend and possibly do another change early next week, pulling more sand at the same time.

Minor updates:
--Did the second WC including pulling sand. Taking longer than I want, but worth it. All sps are responding nicely.
--Another sweet pack coming from Will @ Aqua SD this week.
--Maybe even starting a 20g long frag tank too. Wife and I discussed hooking the frag tank into the main tank system or totally separate. Separate is what we decided. Would love to have LEDs for it, but might go t5.
--A sump baffle broke loose yeaterday, so gonna have to install another ( lucky me ).
--Probably selling a few fish and my ritteri nem this week (locally).
