I've just noticed that Saltwater Aquarium's free shipping on everything policy has changed; minimum spend is now $39.

To be honest, I never really understood how they could make any money when shipping small items. I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually costing them to sell stuff!!

This isn't a rant, as I find this completely understandable, but thought it might be worth letting people know.

I always try to buy 2 sets of Hanna reagents form them, for the bulk discount. 5% discount is not much, but nice.

I have purchased form them and super upset with them, I will take my lost but will never purchase anything from them again, even f they were giving t away.

I purchased the Marine Pro Salt pale and it came in damaged, a week later we got the news that the Turkish salt had a recall due to some I contacted them and due to the damage arrival they could not tell me which pale they sent... As they pale came back damaged I through out the pale and now they cannot tell me or honor anything... BRS for example keeps track of the inventory and can tell you what was shipped and what was in inventory. So now I have salt I'm not going to risk using, so out 130 bucks.... So I will continue to shop on Amazon and BRS for my supply...

And how is any of that their fault? The pail could've been damaged while being shipped (not their fault, and if you didn't report the damaged product when you received it then 100% not their fault) nobody saw the Turkish salt recall coming (not their fault) and then you tried to return a bag of salt because of the recall but you threw away the bucket therefore nobody can know where that salt was produced?

While BRS use to be my go to I’m sticking with SA now and they will get all my business! Great little company and they support the hobby the best they can.

I did report it, and NO did not get 100% refund, I got 20 bucks back after the salt was exposed to humidity and they said I can crushed it by hand... and Yes is terrible customer service... If you receive your salt with half of in salt balls, I'm sure you will complain to and request your money back. Also ALL companies should be aware of the inventory at the point and time and not tell the customer we carry both.

So yes horrible customer service.

lol completely your fault.

lol completely your fault.
Most likely it was I agree, could have canceled credit card transaction, but in my opinion I'm not starving for the 130 bucks perhaps they need it more than I, but will get every chance to say there Customer Service sucks, and would not trust them for my reefing needs.

So what I'm gathering is that you called them and asked for a refund without returning the product in question, does that sound about right? Because if you check out their return policy, that's not how it works. I'm surprised that they even refunded you the $20 because they 100% did not need to. But wait that's...good customer service??

Well no that is not how it went, I was not asking for anything back, the call was more about which salt they sent me and if it was the Turkish so I did not risk my reef stock. I would think you should not assume what I did and what I was thinking and if anything ask and you should be educated.

And yes Horrible Customer services, and I'm here is the email sent no where I see me asking for a refund is just asking where was it from...

Shipping company damages product, but it's SWA's fault. Threw the packaging away, but it's SWA's fault. Manufacturer recalls product, but it's SWA's fault. Ridiculous. I could never work in customer service. Wouldn't last an hour before I would lose it and have to be fired.

Well this just gets more interesting! So all you asked about was where the bucket was sourced from and they replied that they carry salt from both locations? And they STILL refunded you $20? For what reason? How exactly is that bad customer service again? They gave you $20 because you had exposed your salt mix to humidity lol

From the very limited information I have around the TM sat scandal. If you test your new water you would have noticed a difference. Just make a batch of water and test it full spectrum and you’ll know if you’re good or not. People get relaxed in things and then S#%t hits the fan and plan it on the company…. Test all your water first!

sa never seems to have the items im looking for so unfortunately i cannot use them.

Contact TMS they will replace that salt for you. It's in the reefing news that plant also shut down for good.
