I stay with SWA because no taxes ,BRS tax the crap out of people .
I also prefer SWA and try to get everything from them if possible. I don’t dislike BRS I’m just not trying to support the giant that is going to take out all smaller businesses.

To be fair it’s not BRS that is taxing you. They just charge the taxes that go to your state. Also, in my state you are “required” to pay taxes on all untaxed online purchases when you file.

Another SWA customer here. They have been good to me and it’s the little things that matter. Not that I’m bashing BRS because I use them, but when I was getting my tank together and ordering all of the equipment I put in the comment section with both companies in reference to stickers I wanted for the build. SWA circled the comment and sent me several stickers which I thought was nice of them. BRS did not send anything. Again it’s the little things. I will go to SWA first and then check others out.

I’m trying to get a full set of their beer pint glasses. For a long time I didn’t realize they had a section of small items that were free for spending certain amounts

I'll just add that all of my SWA experiences have been exceptional. I have had some problems but they always made it right. My experience is that SWA has some of the best customer service in the industry. They will continue to get my business. I have a lot of SWA swag that I have accumulated over the years through their freebies. Not a full set of pilsners yet, I only have two of those (good for double fisting to the campfire) so far.

To be honest I don't know how they can make money at just $39. That still has to be one of the smallest minimums out there and the fact that everything else has also gone up it seems to me that's still only a break even spending minimum. I can't speak to every last in Canada but the ones I frequent the minimum is anywhere from $150 -$400 (pre tax) to get free shipping. That's still way more up here even if you adjust for the exchange difference in our money. If that $39 also applied to Canada they would be my go to store for most everything dry goods related. :-)

What state do you live in? I like SWA a lot but they always tax me. Only place I haven’t gotten taxed is Fish Tanks Direct out of Florida but they usually aren’t the best about updating their prices especially during MAP sales.

I shop at several popular online retailers. The free shipping at SaltwaterAquarium was nice but I can totally understand the change. What I don't like is that they don't refund reward points on returns. I had 1500 points that I accumulated through the year and returned a brand new unopened item. I read through the policy on returns. Policy is clear as day so i knew what to expect but at least BRS refunds points.
