Saltwater tank

Def get some test kits. Not cheap api ones. Amonia, nitrite, & nitrate need checked.

I don't think API is as bad as some say they are. I personally use Hanna Instruments Checker for Alkalinity, Calcium & Phosphates. For pH, Ammonia, Nitrite & Nitrates I use Elos USA Kits. Either way though, I've experienced good results with either.

Just heard they not as good. Point is testing needs done . If api is good then im glad to hear that. So many opinions on brands on here

I agree. API for the minor tests they work good. Its normally user error on the Nitrates, as the bottles need to be shakin up for a bit before use, then the test needs to sit for a few minutes.

I never used the salt water already for tank. I started my tank with live rock and bio-spira. Waiting a few weeks beforr adding fish. I did add crabs. I believe your tank is just cycling. Over time it will disappear. Hope nothing bsd happens to the fish. Just keep good eye on them. With saltwater it takes time. It's not a race. Be patient.

You need snails and hermits for that. This isn't like fresh water.

Bacteria does it also; which I'm afraid that you don't have yet. In a mature tank waste or dead animals decompose in hours for waste, may a day or so for a small fish.
