Salty build in SA

The heaters won't work correctly in that set up. They need to be almost completely submerged to work correctly. There is a minimum water depth line on them. It will cause your tank to overheat.

Nice buid!

Thanks renato120!

Good call out bknapp... I've actually been trying to search out some other heater options throughout the day today. I would like redundancy and I prefer the glass type heaters. Problem is the Jaebo's that will fit vertically in my sump are rated for 16 - 26 gallons; at standard skimmer levels. My system water volume should be in the 100-135 range. So... any ideas on a good heater solution for my system?

I finally have all of my plumbing parts in to do everything. Still missing the Shadow overflow of course. Going to go ahead and plumb this as far as I can this week.

Return lines are 3/4": Manifold will have 4 x 1/2" valves off of it in addition to the 3/4" valves to the two returns.

For the drains I am reducing the 3 x 1.5" lines off of the Shadow overflow to 1.25" drain lines down to the sump. Big honkin 1.25" gate valve for the full siphon drain line. Putting unions wherever I can.

Looking forward to seeing it all together with the Blue SCH40 pipe and Grey SCH80 fittings.

Also got my 2 x 2.5L Bubble Magus dosing reservoirs in this week.

Packaged very well.

Perfect space for them in the stand. I will probably make an acrylic stand for them though to bring them up to about an inch over the sump height for easier access.

I got some time this weekend to work on the plumbing. Returns and manifolds are done. I got the 3 drain lines done inside the cabinet. Just need to be hooked up to the Shadow overflow once it arrives.

Still need to plumb in the chiller line from the manifold as well as feed the reactors...

I think the lines out the back of the cabinet came out really clean. I'm also going to cut in a 120mm Blue LED fan in on a thermostat. Will place it here on one of the last pieces of room I have here on the back panel; middle, left of this picture.

My solution for heaters arrived...

3 x 300W's on a controller should be more than enough redundancy and juice to keep the tank warm when needed... and they aren't so long and fit well in my sump chamber.

Small step in the progress...

Set up the XR15 Pro that will light my refugium.

I'm guessing we're probably still a month away before we see the Shadow overflow that's been on order since MACNA. So at this point just some small odds and ends to do. It's actually kind of nice to have the time to fine tune some of the little details.

I will be doing a cut out just above the dosing reservoirs big enough for a couple of blue LED fans to help with some circulation under the tank. It's the only real estate left on the back at this point but I think it will both look sharp and help keep temps down. Will trim out the wood finish from the cut out with some tight PVC trim and finish it out nice. That will be the next pictures posted.
