Sam's Oceanic 120 - DIY solutions

Just traded some red mini maxi anemones for a torch, 2 hammers, a clown, and some sps.

Nice haul! And kudos on the BC frag holders they are very nice!
Thanks!
I print Adam a bunch in all the different colors I have for the grow outs.
Not the best quality on them but I print them pretty fast.
I have the design for the 2024 growouts conceptually done... it still needs tweaks. May get a redesign - testing it seems ok; its only tossed my Goni once.

Going to Aruba with the family tomorrow till Sunday.
Hope the tank can manage. Setup auto feeders and added pickling lime to the stirrer.

Nice tidy bit of equipment . Looks like it’s working well Sam

Ok, I think my wife is finally ready to put in for a printer...

Longer, Sovol, Anycubic, or Ender? I'm thinking I'm going to go for the 12" print bed.

I use anycubic for my minis. Solid printer.

Edit: just realized this wasn't posted in your thread. My bad. I'm out of it.

You're fine! I'm looking for any and all advice.

I'm looking my ankermake. But if you want a 12 inch bed that is out. I have a frustration with enders support. Other than that, anycubic sure does advertise a lot.

I see a lot of Anycubic but I'm on their Facebook group and there seems to be a lot of people that give up after using them. I like th Sovol and Longer and they get good reviews, Ender is super popular and my parents are considering buying me the $99 Ender 3 when they're in Missouri later this month. I may get that for my birthday and get a Sovol or Longer for the kids for their homeschool stuff.

Ender took a lot of tinkering. Probably helpful for homeschooling to learn technology. I was mostly happy till things started needing replacement and I started upgrading the parts. Print quality and speed out of the box were better with ankermake. But ender was serviceable. I have some dialing in to do with the Anker too though.
I want my next to be prusa, if I have the money, the xl. But that doesn't look likely.

Go with what you like and you will be fine.

The sovol seemed good value for the $$

No matter what printer there will always be maintenance.
When you’re squeezing hot plastic out a nozzle there will always be stuff that breaks or gets worn out and need replacement.
All the head-scratching issues I’ve had have been wear. The hardest I’ve had to troubleshoot was the extruder heater wire broke 1/2 way to the nozzle for no apparent reason. Knowing how to check continuity on a voltmeter would have helped me troubleshoot that immensely.

Any printer, even prusa will have issues with their hot-end and wear.

Ender 3 Max Neo (11.81" print bed) and an 8 pack of Sunlu PETG filaments is on the list awaiting approval.

Better hope that filament prints well to get an 8pack!

Any recommendations for brands of filament?
I really only print inland filament because microcenter is so convenient to me.
Get 5% discount too because I have their card.
