Reefing is only as complicated as you make it! The less you know the better off you are haha! Sounds silly but it’s the truth!

I believe that as well. I only started looking into it during my battle with dinos and coming across some information about low ORP ect... I have tried reading about ORP, but it is way too complicated. I was hoping to find someone that could explain it to me like I am five. Just more curious at this point.

I’d say Randy but he never explains anything to us as 5yr olds it’s more of I need a bachelors in chemistry to understand a single sentence that man writes haha! I hate chemistry and don’t know anything about it! I know what numbers I need to be at and I know how to achieve them with such products. How all them products intermingle and ions, shmions work sigh…..

My understanding about ORP is minimal and unverified but I understand it as:

Food that is available for the corals.

It’s the organics in the system so when the lights go on and the corals start eating the ORP goes down. If you add a bunch of phyto it’ll go up again. (And your pH goes down , but by less)
Anyway, I don’t use it too much right now because I cannot affect it until I get an ozone generator.

I get disconnected sometimes and I don't even know it, everything keeps working fine. Hoping the same for you!

Apex just forgot its connection. came back and restarted it and it caught up.

i removed the extra skimmer bucket I use for vacations. this time it proved unnecessary as I don't remove much with my skimmer settings.
I'll never get that data back....

Sorry been absent! trying to catchup to a few threads still... but wanted to showoff my new filter design for small systems with big filtration needs. also got 4 PJ cardinals and a cleaner goby for $10/fish @ Petco sale.

haha one was traded to me as a jawbreaker for i think some chaeto awhile back. it didnt start multiplying tuntill just recently though. and the red ones are all over now.
