Sand bed looks boring?

I like the way it turned out. I though I might be the only one that hates the flat sand look. Mine is a bit wavy also and my goby also like to dig so that helps too. But the one this I like the best is the litter all around. My bed has a bunch of shells, dead coral fragments, and rubble that definitely gives it some character.

No not yet. My diatom bloom has come back in full force as the tank is only a few months old. When it dies off I'll give it a go :)

That is a huge bummer! I hope you get it sorted soon.

The open ocean is void of much this. If you'll look around the reefs they are "polluted" in a sense with all the aforementioned. Whilst I strive to keep my tank clean, I'm not going to go out of my way to keep the sand bed spotless. I appreciate those that take the extra time and go out of their way to keep a sterile tank, it just doesn't look like a reef to me. I think that one should strive to keep a tank similar to what is in the wild. However, I can't fault those that choose not to. It's one of the things I love about this hobby, customization based on individual tastes.

Thanks! It's at that "getting worse before it gets better" stage. It won't be long :)
I'm excited to see how this looks in my tank and finding the pattern I like best to suit my aqua scape.

That's the best part! I go through stages where I won't like something and move a piece of rock, and next thing I know, I've completely changed the aquascape. That's why I need more than one tank so I can have all kinds of aquascaped ideas. I REALLY should stop coming up with ideas on how to do things.

I always put my sand how I like it and then the next day my Niger Trigger pulls all of the sand out of the caves and makes hills lol. I hate it because you can see the bottom glass...but I guess he is comfortable lol

my pistal shrimp makes all kinds of hills where ever he digs, almost natural look to it now.
