Sawdonkey's 220 Progress Thread

Hey Sawdonkey, great tank! I'm digging the minimal aquascaping and I run the same lights.

Curious what your settings are on the lights? And what diodes did you swap out? All I did was remove the optics over the red and green diodes but I'm always down to tweak some more.

Thanks

I put two whites in the blue channels so they aren't all blue. I removed all red and greens, and replaced about 2/3 of the cool whites with warm whites.

Any way I could get some larger FTS to share?

I tried, but I just cannot take a good FTS. Here is the product of my not-so-skillful work tonight.

You're like my tank doppelganger! Our systems are so similar! I think I'll copy your light modifications as well and swap out some cool whites for yellow whites. Maybe even ditch the red and green LEDs as well.

Any chance you can point me to where you got the yellow white diodes? Reefbreeders?

Yep, Reefbreeders.

I remember reading about more useable spectrum from yellow white LEDs versus cool white LEDs. Maybe I should do a bit more research first!

My RMF Ultimate Miyagi is one of my favorite acros in my tank. Its a great mix of blues, greens, purples, and even some pinks. My colony has gotten fairly large so I have a hard time capturing its colors. Tonight I got out my extension tubes an got a macro that shows it's range of colors:

Thanos Acro. This thing grows! It was the highest coral in my tank and I just moved it down about 5-6 inches to see if I could bring out more colors than just the pink/purple. This think went from frag to 6 inch colony in about 10 months and this is one of my emperor's favorite corals to trim, hence the messed up structure it currently has:

That cracks me up that your emperor does the same thing as mine... trim corals. Mine's acro of choice is the hawkins, nice little appetizer on occasion before I feed him.

That's odd I don't have Hawkins but I have ice fire and another deep water that looks like Hawkins. He never touches either. He likes blue matrix and nasutas. But really, almost every day when I get home, one coral or another has a tip with slime coming off of it.
