Just dropping in to say hello to everyone after joining the forum.
I joined up to document my change-over and upgrade of my 1st reef. We've currently got an established 90 DT mixed reef with a remote fuge and sump.
It's lightly stocked by most reefing standards, but generally living and ready to expand and fill in after applying what has been learned on our first system.
- We will be moving the reef up to a standard 120 gal (4x2x2) with a new stand.
- The remote fuge will be kept, but heavily modified by replacing the tank for it as well during the upgrade.
- all new plumbing runs for drains, returns, and for the fuge system.
- slight modification of sump and fuge locations inside the remote closet (new through-the-wall location)
- along with everything else that I will be upgrading, replacing, or changing out for re-design reasons after learning on the current system the last few years.
It will be a work in progress to track and watch. But we'll keep it moving forward as we get the ball rolling... the new tank is secured and I'll be looking to work out a new stand before I dive into the build and transfer of it all. But I'll be sure to pop in, update the thread, and discuss the design and build process as it gets going.
Come find the new journal when I kick it off this weekend and join in on the ride. The more the merrier on my little section of reef
