I ordered one of the basics just to test it out. It should be in the mail now. I will be testing it out directly against the Rapid Led Onyx fixture. I'll post my results here, but it will be over months. (I say that because you're probably looking for a quick answer) and my tank is a good mix of everything.. But fairly heavy on the SPS.

This has been one of the most informative and pleasant threads I've read in a long time. Great conversations going on! [emoji7]
I was nicely surprised when I woke up to see that it ended so pleasantly, especially considering how drunk some people probably were last night :)

Tim, looking forward to your brutally honest review. We are always looking to improve and I am sure we will get new ideas for improvement from customers that we may have not considered during development.

@Mike Herman how do I use the app on my computer? I was told the emulator was out for pc but can't find it.

I am playing with some today to see which works best. I am not an IT guy so it may take me a bit. We also have an updated app coming out in the next couple days, maybe even today. It will be IOS for Apple as well. It will have updates making connection to a home router easier for control of multiple lights.

Okay well if/when I can program is either from my pc or phone let me know. I'm ready to use this bad boy already!

Also I see what you did with that name there ;)

And a disclaimer. I have my expectations set for a $130 bargain LED box. So not expecting it to outperform.. If it keeps up at all, and keeps color in my corals (especially my blue stag ;)) I'll be satisfied and buying several more.

And thanks for the R2R support! That make you a ligit company now!

I got mine mounted up today. I'm digging it so far, and there may be a custom single pole mount being fabricated for it, so stay tuned.

Might not be the prettiest thing but it was cost effective and it works good enough to hang the light lol. I need to go buy some wire to make sure it hangs evenly though. The wire it came with wasn't enough but no big deal.

Any word on the being able to program with the pc yet? Or IOS?

So apparently you can use a kindle to work the app and connect to the lights lol. Anyways I finally figured it out. They look sweet! Can't wait to add some new corals!

@SB Reef Lights the fan won't come on though. Maybe it's something I didn't do right but I tried adjusting the settings and everything but still the fan didn't come on. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

so do populargrow

i chose bridgelux because they are proven. this is the first time i have heard epistar are "better".

please realize i only challenge, not to troll. but to explain to me as the consumer why i should jump on this bandwagon.

atm... i see another rebrand. whether it is correct or not.

see what i mean?

Well for one he's pony'd up and supported R2R so that's a plus. And it's a different spectrum than the regular black boxes for sure because I spoke to one of the guys that works for the manufacturer before I ordered mine just to make sure he wasn't just blowing smoke. (Always research) .. As for them being better?? I got one to try over my frag tank. Will it out perform my Cree's on the display? Doubtful.. But it would be great if I get good growth and keep the same color as upstairs. I expect a $130 light because I bought a $130 light. Likewise if I were to drop $750 on a Radion I'd expect a $750 light.. But do you really you get $750 out of a Radion?
(Btw.. Not craping on Ecotech, I'm sure the Radions are fantastic lights.. As are all their products. Just too rich for me to even try, just used that as an example.. There's many other high end that could be used in thier place ;))
