Sounds awesome!

My wife agreed to remove a closet in the front room to place the new tank. Here are some pics

Cleaned up a bit with a new floor

Behind the uncovered area is the basement steps, I'll open up that completely to give access to the back of the tank.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear. They seemed to be the most reasonably priced for what you get. I just received the Modular Marine overflow today.

Welcome to the SCA 150 owners club! Mine has been up for about a month now and it is absolutely gorgeous! I love the clarity of the glass! I upgraded from a very old, very scratched 75 gallon tank and just sit and stare every morning with my cup of coffee!

I went with the Exotic Marine overflow. It’s super quiet and well-built. Only thing is, now that it’s on, it’ll be a big job if I ever need to get into the weir. I’m a little envious of the Modular Marine removable weir.

I’ll be following along with your build!

~ $200 cheaper than the competitor. Really nice place to work with. They gave me exactly what I wanted.

Following as well. Do you plan to skin the stand or just leave it open? Looking at doing a similar thing soon but I have to have panels

Idea for inspiration:

I had a bunch of pallet wood in the garage. The top and bottom “frame” pieces are 1/2” furring strips from Lowe’s. I’m currently finishing it with a product called Flat Out Flat, a topcoat with zero shine.
ine is attached with magnets, but you could get some heavy duty Velcro for the aluminum stand.
