SCAM ALERT!!! PLEASE READ

Please read here before posting. Outside comments are not permitted per R2R's feedback forum policy. This is to allow the buyer and seller to have a streamlined conversation and hopefully come to a mutually satisfactory resolution in a negative transaction. If you would like to contribute your own feedback experience with either the buyer or seller, you may do so by creating your own feedback thread. Only the thread starter and vendor will have posting access. Thank you.

I've been posting stuff in here. The trouble is, the scammers just keep setting up new accounts so it's hard to warn people about individuals. The generic warning to just to be on your guard.

I must say, that I've reported a few scammers and R2R has dealt with them very quickly (within a few minutes), but they just pop up again with a new account.
Fishyfishfish- your handle sounds well fishy! LOL I also think restricting new members from PM in addition to posting ads is a good idea.

10 meaningful posts.
Saying " Hello" or " I agree" as examples are not meaningful.

Meaningful are a conversation, sharing an experience, going on any of the sub forums and getting imvolved in conversations
10 posts, seems to low, and they (Scammers) also have access to viewing classifieds/marketplace and can private massage people.
I vote for classifieds/marketplace be turn off, not even be able to be viewed, till there is 50 mininfull post have being posted. Maybe time also, Like a month or so of account. That will stop, slow them down for sure

It all sounds good - until you have to police it - and read 50 posts for each person - and decide what is 'meaningful'. To me - I'm changing my position - Put warnings up at the top of the threads - and let buyers (and frankly sellers) beware - because people try to scam sellers as well

Legit members are posting in WTB and being messaged by scammers. This is different than posting in the selling section which is where you need the post count, etc.

when the scammers see that WTB

Or bring back the ol eBay/Reddit practice of holding a piece of paper in the photo w/username to help verify authenticity

morals and values are seemingly meaningless to someone willing/wanting to "push the envelope" today.

It's the consequences placed upon actions that steer most into a civil direction. currently there are NO consequences.
there should not be another single law forwarded to the Senate until current laws are pursued effectively.

our current Prosecutorial System is a JOKE, a gigantic lie to the people it stands to protect. #Money

My daughter works at a sunglasses shop here in Kansas City. She says people come in. Take a pair of sunglasses in front of them. Say "hey I'm taking these" and just walk out.

This happens multiple times per week. They smile at the camera and just walk away doing it in broad daylight totally brazen. Apparently, this is a serious problem at their Plaza store. The most affluent shopping district in Kansas City.

They have been instructed by their managers that they can do nothing to stop them and to just document it. The staff doesn't even care anymore and just lets them take them.

It's crazy. They lose thousands of dollars/week in stolen sunglasses.

I am perfectly good with their current restrictions myself. I mean at some point people have to take some responsibility for themselves to avoid being scammed as the OP here did. A 50 post minimum just means the scammer has to quickly post 50 stupid posts.

As a buyer i look to see they are an active member of the hobby/forums. Ideally with feedback from other buyers.

Yes - that was kind of my point - that most of the warnings etc have been posted - another one quoted one posted in 2012 - warning against accepting seller offers that didn't seem legit - and its been at least a while - that its been said dont use friends and family, etc
