I need to be schooled on the tunze line of pumps. in my 10+ years of reefing I have never used them.

hear they last a long time & are built like a tank.

I am thinking of a couple to help dial in the flow on a Rs 650 peninsula tank. the fact you can direct the flow is a +

but what I dont understand is do they offer flow programming like the ecotech line does?
I see the 'controllable' pumps come with a little dial where you can adjust the % and pulse anything else?
what do you need to program in via apex? does it work? do you get any other flow programs like the MP pumps?

anything else one needs to know about the Tunze? I am looking into the 6255s & 6105s

You can control both of those Tunze pumps with the Apex through the 0-10v control with this cable. Great pumps.

I know you can connect them via 0-10V cables to a hydros wave controller and have cool settings that way.

Otherwise, I'll be using 6255 x2 on my next tank if they return to stock. Right now Tunze has no estimated return of this pump with supply issues from what they've told me. Great pumps.

You can control speed and pulse and such on the controller box... otherwise hook then up to a controller which unlocks whatever you want to program.

oh no that is not good news. I hope they dont take to long to get back in stock.

I've been waiting since March to get my hands on 2 6105's. I emailed them and they said they should be back in stock in February. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I wish i could drop like 3K on PH and play with them all and then choose what I like best and meets my needs. haha I even the guy who won the BRS dream tank with all the flow option s/he got.

6105s are reportedly to be in stock soon as you mention. Roger at Tunze told me this, but there is no expected arrival of the 6255, for now. Fingers crossed!

I like that the 6105 will be available but hope 6255 will be available soon.

My favorite pumps ever. They are absolutely bulletproof. The 6095 is amazing! Widest flow in the industry.

Their controllers leave a lot to be desired and doing things like Ecotech is out of the question with their current controller.

I plan to run the 6095s and Stream 3 pumps on my new 6 foot peninsula. It's the only way I can think to not have any pumps on the viewing end.

I have 4 6105's and 2 6095's.
1 6105 is a controlable one.
3 of them are standard and almost 15 years old and going strong.
The only weak link is the blue rubber shock absorbers they put on to control noise from vibration.
When you remove them from the tank put a large fish net under them. This way they fall into the net and not behind your rock work.

I'm not terribly impressed with the build quality. I have one 6095, and the power cord kept getting unseated from the controller unit. I then unplugged it for a month, because it was just too much of a hassle to keep the unit plugged in. When I turned it back on two days ago, the controller unit actually began to scorch and burn. That thing could easily have started a fire, and I bought it new, too.

Super reliable, built to last, silent. German engineering. Not made in Turkey.

But they aren't exactly subtle.
Yea, I prefer my Jeabo controller over the Tunze.
I run 4 Tunze and 2 Jeabo's in my 120 all on random mode.

Just keep in mind glass thickness when buying them, especially if you're putting them on a 6ft tank that might have thicker glass. You can find the pump magnet specs on tunze site. I think for my next tank. 19mm glass requires the 6255, or 6105s with magnet upgrades ($70).

I have more SLW's in operation than Tunze's right now.

I love Tunze and have used their products for years. The only dealbreaker for me in the wave makers (and they don’t tell you this anywhere nor do vendors) that the controller is hardwired to the pump, making them a real pain to practically remove and clean in the sink.
