I like that, I think they are beautiful.Scopes are cool. One minute you have the expensive all black tang. Then another minute you have a half brown half black tang, 2 in one deal! Lol. @20 bucks you won't regret! On top of that, it grazes and is always constantly doing something
Half black and half brown is still cool, but wait till he turns all black, AMAZING! lol. When I had mine, it would turn all black while the cleaner wrasse did his business on him and then switch back to black and brown afterwards. Lost it to disease
what disease did he get?Do you have a pic of him? What size tank is he in? They say that about ago tangs generally, but then I always see people with multiple tangs in their tanks.I love mine I have had him for about 2 years. Easy to feed, but the only problem is that they can be aggressive because they are scopas tangs. If you have other twngs add him last.
He is a beauty. An earlier post said they eventually get darker. I guess another attraction is the Scopas isn't something everyone has like the blue tang or yellow tank. It's different, if it eventually turns all dark or black, than its better to pay $20 than to pay $800 for black longnose tang. I like the black tangs too.I have him currently in a 180 with one other tang (a Lieutenant tang). he is also slightly aggressive towards my lamarks angel. He isn't extremely aggressive, just every once in awhile he will slap tails with the other tang. My lieutenant tang is definitely better at eat algae, but Scopas eventually get an extremely beautiful blue spotted pattern on their sides. I have always heard them been referred to as a "poor man's tang". He is probably 3-4 inches slightly under sized to my lieutenant tang.
Hey, you have a red tail triggerfish?I have him currently in a 180 with one other tang (a Lieutenant tang). he is also slightly aggressive towards my lamarks angel. Actually it is a female bluethroat, I have heard they are the most reef safe and she has been quite the model citizen.Hey, you have a red tail triggerfish?
I heard that if red tail triggerfish too. If I'll risk a triggerfish, it will be the one I get.Actually it is a female bluethroat, I have heard they are the most reef safe and she has been quite the model citizen.
Yay, reef2reef featured this thread, my thread, on Facebook. That's cool! They are awesome fish with so much personality, I would risk it, as long as you don't totally starve them they won't touch inverts.
I would have to say that looks like a baby tenniti or lieutenant tangid of the tang please?![]()
