A launch party is happening to this weekend at my lfs and it was just for sale at the New England Frag Farmer’s Market! And now would be the time to tell you every time I tried to use it more stuck to my hands lol! The inventor/co-founder of the product and company owns my lfs!

They were selling it at FFM in Connecticut last weekend. I didn't get a chance to check it out tho.

I got some at FFM and tried using it to glue down the frags I got there. I really couldn’t get it to work… I was gluing wet frags to wet rock and the only thing it would stick to was my fingers. It smeared and basically got everywhere I didn’t want it and nowhere I did. When I did manage to get a blob off my fingers and onto a frag, it wouldn’t set even after holding it down for a couple of minutes. People rave about it so I feel like I must be doing something wrong? Should I be using a knife to apply it rather than fingers?

It takes a lot of practice! I don’t have the application perfect. You should wear gloves and push the water layer which could be why it didn't stick. It wants to stick to itself and it does/will get stuck to your hands a lot.

I got so much stuck to my hands then freaked out because I ran out of rubbing alcohol trying to get it off and gloves beforehand lol and I didn’t want to use acetone because of my nails! And I just went to the store to get gloves and rubbing alcohol. It takes a while but rubbing alcohol and acetone dissolve the glue water/soap will not dissolve it or really help in fact water helps cure it!

Guess I’ll just stick to glue and epoxy for a while I was hoping it would be a good product. Still better then the novum frag plug lol

Wouldn't recommend. 1. The only thing it seems to stick to are fingers. 2. when I did manage to get it to stick, the frag fell off the mount even after letting it sit for at least 15 min. 3. It's very difficult to squeeze out of the tube, and couldn't imagine getting any out after half of it has been used up. 4. after you use it a couple times the lid cannot be removed. So, I guess it sticks to the lid too. lol. $ down the drain

The lid I was told you throw away and create a glue bubble/don’t put it back on. And yes it’s sticky and the other tubes they sell are caulk guns and are easier to use. And I got the benefit of my lfs being the founder and showing me how to use it. It was also still in the testing phases and the packaging has been changed.

I didn't think this was a problem that needed solving. Last time I checked Superglue is still pretty super.

I can't trash a product I haven't used, but it sounds like it has the same problems of super glue (ie getting stuck to fingers) without the super simple ease of use as super glue and possible effectiveness. If I need to practice it a bunch before it finally works, why not use the tried and true method that works first time?

This being said, I hope further hobbyist testing proves it to be the bees knees and they do well!
