I'm going to send my Ro/di system back 600 dollars and out of the box I could not get zero. I had to remove my anemone it was dissolving. This is really confusing because when everyone kills off their things they put them in my tank and within three months back to looking like brand-new. I will buy another one later, but until I can corner a possible problem I'm going to hold off. I wonder if the shrimp I was feeding it was bad I did give it some Saltwater minnows that was its last meal and then this started to happen within 32 hours it went from looking like the original pictures to a Deteriorating ball. Don't know.

What is your tap water's TDS?
How about the TDS post RO, but before the DI resin ?

If the anemone was bleached to begin with, you were had an uphill battle in front of yourself.

When you say "saltwater minnows" do you mean silversides? Myself and other experienced anemone keepers have lost otherwise healthy anemones to their use -- I stopped using them 5-6 years ago.

Silver sides is exactly what they were it ate about 5 of them and then belly up. My water starts off at 297 ppm. I just checked my after and it's at 27 ppm. I'm going to order new cartridges and see of that does the trick if not I will get one from a different company.

Mine had the same issue, I found out it was because one of my screws on the fixture got wet and leaked rust water into the tank here's mine now

You know what rust is, right?

Yeah rust oxidation of metal my aquarium has no metal. on the top is completely plastic and glass the closest thing to metal is hovering 3 feet above my tank. And that's aluminum. The only other things I have in my tank our water pumps and power-heads.

Not you, I was replying to 'ohio reefer' that thinks that rust was what caused his anemone's stress. Just checking to see if they realize that rust is iron oxide = ferrous oxide = GFO that people put into their tanks all the time. ;)

I understand that's what rust is, however when you have large amount of it dripping into you're aquarium to the point where the nem was completely closed, I went over the screw with silicon and he was open the next day
