Second Jedi Mind Trick RTN

Can't figure out any way to get dKH down. Tropic Marin pro reef mixes to 9dkh. My alkalinity holds steady at 11dkh. I've been doing a 20% PWC each week and dose nothing.

It did come down from 18dkh over more than month of this though.

Yes Russ. After seeing so many threads about sps issues it comes down to one conclusion.
starving thezooxanthellae algae of the basic building blocks of life

Hydrochloric acid. Problem is,
My ph won't go over 7.8. Im in a new apartment that is sealed very good. High c02. :-(

An issue of lowering ALK? why not let nature do it?
I will have to go back through and see what is being "dosed"

Unless you have 10 kids in there I doubt its a co2 issue
there are so many variables that drives co2
have you done my "ph co2 test"?

I've got myself and wife as well as a dog and cat.

My salt water mixes higher when I let I mix outside.

Dropping alk via acid would drop ph as well.

I've been opening doors in the morning trying to get more 02 in tbe apartment.

It's nuts, I've never had this issue before. Seems tropic Marin pro reef mixes to a lower ph right off the bat.

7.8 shouldn't be bad since its rock solid, but acid will drop it further.

i guess let it drop naturally then. no water changes.

Does your test involve mixing outside? I mix to a higher ph, but not much higher. Maybe a side effect of topic Marin pro reef?

What does ALK and calcium mix at in your new mix?

Lol Russ!
that stuff is junk!
TM pro is one of the best salts recommended by many of my contacts. But I don't change water anymore so never had the chance to use TM pro

I just may spend a little more money to do it (triton)
The OP has issues that are 100% in his control.

People just forget or don't realize that what makes these corals the way they are, are at the basic levels of life as we know it.
Here where I live I have seen my fair share of coral failures due to the lack of understanding.
I always say.. what do you do to make your grass green? Its the same concept with coral.
