Got this frag and I’m pretty sure it’s a setosa. The top definitely looks like it but the yellow polyps are throwing me off.

I can see the polyps on yours but that’s the thing, usually they’re the same color as the coral itself.Hmmm... my Setosa doesn't have any noticeable polyps like that.

Definitely is. Trying to find out if it’s a montipora setosa or something else. I’m not convinced yet.Looks monti to me

I appreciate all of the responses. While the coloration matches many of the replies, the growth pattern doesn’t. This is what has puzzled me.
Thanks. And you’re adding more fuel to the mystery. I was sold this as a $4 frag. I can’t wait to grow this out.Don't get distracted by what's going on in the top left of the frag. What makes it a cap is how it's growing on the bottom right. Setosa wont furl back up on the leading edge, it will solidly encrust like an acro.
IME neither will an unshaded encrusting monti. There's also a radial pattern working up the face of it, also not a Setosa or encruster kind of thing.
The upper left side of the frag that's throwing you for a loop is an nodule growth pattern common to some caps.
Nice frag of sunburst/starburst cap is what you have (+90% odds). Outside chance it is a Stellata (less than 5%),. Outside outside chance it is a funky Setosa (less than 1%)
