Sfin's Dream.

I agree with Lost about not tearing out the rocks to catch the fish yet. I'm sorry to hear about the ich but your tank is well-established and your fish are in good condition they should be able to fight this off. Consider the copper and stock tank as a contingency plan at this point.

Suggestions on when to take the tank apart to move fish.

This was the pic 2 days ago. Yesterday no spots this morning spots. Waiting on pics from Heather.

Definitely ich but looks mild in the pic. Anyone else showing spots besides the fox? Has the fox been shedding a lot?

I haven't noticed it shedding. But I'm not home during the day I come back to feed and enjoy thr tank a little. It's been flicking its spines more than usual.

I thought I saw somw on my kole this morning but hard to tell under blue lights.

I'm still a day out from pulling if I do. 40gal of water mixing right now and will have to get it up to temp.

Heather just picked up the tank and heater. I have lights internal canister and pumps.

I have spare rock that I'll put in the tank with a container of sand for the ornate.

I know the rock and sand will absorb some of the copper and than leatch it out over time. The rock has been in holding since Feb. I will also remove the bio from my canister and place it in the tank. I figure I can't have too much good bacteria in a sterile tank.

I will will wash the sponges with bleach when done or toss cheap enough to replace.

Heather said it looks like there's more spots on the foxface than 2 days ago.

My gut says to pull. I'll listen to you folks who are way more experienced than me.

If I didn't before I'll will now. I appreciate your guys time and care.

Doesn't hurt to have the tank and meds ready to go. I totally understand how you feel I've dealt with my share of sick fish over the years. As long as your fish are eating and still acting normal I think they have a good shot at fighting it off - but I guess the real question is do you want to practice ich management from now on or not? If you pull everyone and go fallow you'll need to QT every fish, coral and invert before adding it to your DT from then on. I lack the discipline to do that, but much kudos to all those that do.

I agree as long as the fish are eating and active I wouldn't stress them with pulling. I added a cpl cleaner shrimp to my reef after a very light outbreak 3 months in. I have had no reoccurring issues. Good diet low stress and the shrimp keep all my fatty fish in proper working order.

Here is the cruck of the issue. To do a a propper qt. Everything has to be qt. Rock, fish, coral and inverts. I don't have that kind of space and I definitely don't have a second tank up to house coral thats stable as my dt. This means that I would need to have 2 to 3 qt systems ready to go with one a dedicated coral.

I just can't do that. So I figured I would have ich in my tank sooner than later. 8yrs and 1 month I've been ich free. I think I had a great run.

I would let the occupants tell you if pulling and treatment is needed. I would be very surprised if the kole Tang did Not have any bumps. My Bristletooth was the Only one that would show.

I'm looking for symptoms such as not eating, elevated respiration, labored breeding, unusual hiding. You know your fish, Way better than any of us do. Watch them and Go with your gut. If that means treating them, do it. I'm happy to answer any questions you have on that as well. I QT'd for a year with cupramine but have since moved to copper safe.

That's the secret ;)
I make my own food and add vitamins. I feed nori every other day. I feed opposite nori days. Very little stress everything seems to get along fine now. A little agreasion when I added angel a couple months back. That has resolved with the kole accepting the angel.

What's the difference?

Any issues with coral banded shrimp with a cleaner. My coral banded is a monster. I would say full grown or close two it had it for 3 yrs

What's the difference?
Six of one, half dozen of the other.

I found cupramine was harder to keep levels steady with. There are many that say of the three big names, That is the most harsh, and copper power is the least.

Given that you would be adding rock into it, plan to test no less frequently than every two days. Levels can change fast and you don't want to drop out of therapeutic levels at any time within the treatment.

Yep restart the clock.

You had a great run!

If you don't want to go all out with QT'ing everything you can setup an observation tank. I have one running that I put new fish in so that I can make sure they're healthy and eating well before they go in my main tank.
