Shmoopy's Build

Thanks, yours is looking awesome. Its probably the hardest part of building a tank...

Thanks Pug, me too. Ive been patient with the build so far but im getting anxious to get some coral going. I will transfer a few frags from my old tank soon i hope.

WOW ! Love all the hard work you have done to the control panel and cabinet. I need to take a class from you on that !

Thanks Kenny, its funny how different hobby's compliment each other. Electronics from drones, woodworking, and plumbing all come in handy when building a tank. Funny thing is i had almost everything in my garage already, its basically a small home depot. :)

Time for the Hard Part... Aquascaping...
Ok, things to consider: golden ratio, power of thirds, % sand to rock, coral placement, what i like, what my wife likes, what my kids like, astrology, etc..

Any way you might create a new thread and explain what you're doing for those that may not understand it? I would like to feature it!

Good idea Rev! I love these builds that get creative like this. I also really like the pull out electronics cabinet in the stand. Fantastic idea that I have yet to see until now. I'll be following this one for sure.

Great build. Sorry for the question... Doesn't the humidity in the cabinet cause the electronics to corrode quickly?

You live in Lubbock, right? I've seen your tank on the facebook club here. Good to see you on R2R!!!

Wow!! Awesome job on the scape! I don't want to hijack your thread, but if you'd be willing to post another thread explaining some of the way you go about determining how you want to do your scape, that would be awesome! For example, an explanation of some of the principles you mention (golden ratio, power of thirds, % sand to rock) for the less informed (*cough, cough* ...like ME, for example... *cough, cough*), it would be appreciated by many I'm sure!

Cabinet painted and electronics installed (somewhat)

Drawer slides for the cabinet and matching handle from home depot!
Note the GFCI and network gaming adapter for internet access

More wiring than I anticipated..

That electronics drawer is one of the coolest things I've seen. That's truly awesome!
