Ok how do I save this thing... this is the second one I am trying to put in my tank. The first one didn’t make it through the night.

story and question:
Just picked it up from the LFS, dropped a spine in the bag on the way home 40 mins.... I am dripping it now, but my last one dropped a spin in the bag and didn’t make it through the night!!! I really don’t want to see another one die. I feel like urchins are starting to be the most sensitive creature on earth...

First one was a tuxedo.

You know how, they say if something goes wrong take a step back and hold off... definitely not that guy... I try and fail. Tossed him/her some food.

LONG acclimation ( 3 hours for mine). Sensitive to water condition changes and must have food source.
Assure Salinity in acclimation matches tank or at least with +/- 2 points

Soooo 1 hours was too short... dang it..

I have a ATO, not worried about salinity, worried that it dropped a spin in the bag...

Anything extra I can do to help it out the most I can?

Spines it dripped in the bag.

Pray to the sea gods. The urchin gods. Lol. Hope this 1 does well for you.
I had a giant black longspine and the blue coloring contrast with the black was so kool. They are truly amazing creatures.

Thanks, needed that.

Edit: As in I needed a good laugh.

Well thanks everyone. Looks like I did all I could, other than letting it acclimate for an additional two hours.

I’ll be praying for tumbleweed, I knew I shouldn’t have named it.. bad luck lol
