Hey there. Sounds super stressed skimmed the prior reply’s- it stated I apologize, Did you feed it? if not I wouldn’t and don’t force it. Depending on setups and every other variable, they will do weird things. An open mouth could be excreting waste/purging. Brown goo is more then likely waste.
I’ve seen my Nems do some weird things. I would refrain from physically moving it unless in danger of power heads etc. it will move if It’s not happy. Make sure your salinity and parameters are proper, which Im sure they are. Try and temp match the water during changes.
In my time of having nems (Few years) I’ve only had a two not make it and I related one to rushing it into the tank without a proper drip acclimation and the other from my mama clown straight up roughhousing it .. Hopefully yours doesn’t beat it up while flat. Fingers crossed it’ll charm the nem back up.
