Should Rodi water have any Alk reading

I have recently had a frightening Alk spike and I can't figure out where it's coming from. Then I checked my Rodi water and I got an Alk reading of 102 from Rodi water the only thing I've done is change Rodi filters and I have never noticed this before any ideas as to what happens.

Yes it's at 0 I just changed all the filters and did a flush of the system for a few moments like I always do for the first 10 min. Then I noticed the all in my tank had gone up only thing that has changed is what I did to the rodi filter

So if TDS is 0 ppm then how could alkalinity possibly be 100 ppm? Does that make sense to you? One or both of your tests are incorrect.

Could a Hannah alk checker be off

I have a hard time believing that alk is +++++ but there is 0 tds... one or both must be incorrecct

I just checked both and both read the same so either my Hannah checker is messed up or my tds meter is. I just find it hard to believe that my rodi isn't working when I just replaced all the filters

I've not tried to use my Hanna Checker on RO/DI. Maybe it doesn't read it right. I'll go try and report back in a few minutes.

The one I took the reading from is a BRS Spartan. The filters are not new, but I still get 0 ppm TDS.

From another discussion on here about testing rodi water it was discussed that the hanna phos checker is not capable of testing ultra pure water and would give readings all over the place. It's possible that the Alk checker has the same problem. Maybe @AZDesertRat or @Randy Holmes-Farley can chime in with a bit more info.

FWIW, I use a handheld TDS meter that I calibrate myself. The inline one also reads 0 ppm after the DI though.

This is what I was concerned about. My own single test doesn't appear to have any issue, but that's only one test.

Yea I'm confused. I tested mine three times with three different readings. The color of the water can't change to much because the dye is that yellowish color
