Show me your cool tank stand!

Your stand inspired me to built my own one.
What stain and final coat did you use???

-Andre
ooh sorry for late reply, minwax red mahogany and minwax fast drying polyeurethane if you have not done that already

Great job on these stands!

all custom setup. Goal was to keep it simple and clean. All equipment exposed for an open sump design.
Industrial grade casters for relocation. Should be wet before the new year!!

This is mine. 2x2 1/4" powdercoated steel with custom inserts for back panels and 6,000lb capable feet. The sump sits on a 1/4" steel plate and some 2,000lb capable wheels for easy maintenance. According to the engineers that built and design it for me, you could park a Suburban on top of this and it wouldn't flex or bend. I just wanted to get rid of my old 92gallon bowfront wooden stand so I could get a bigger sump and then a bigger tank to cover the bowfront stand. Expected new tank is 175 gallon plus the 40 gallon sump. Sorry about the lighting... my Radions light up the tank great but don't allow for beautiful pictures of the sump.

How long have you had the Idol?? My favorite fish, but too afraid to attempt one!

Had him for just about a year but sadly passed away two weeks ago. Was stuck to the side of a power head was fat and healthy so not sure what happened. The hardest thing with the idols is getting one that eats this one as eating mysis at the lfs only reason I got him. He was one of my favorites.

Man nice additions to the thread!

Here is mine 3/4 birch plywood with pickled oak stain for natural look. Inside is painted with killz prime and the top trim has a Philips hue led strip inside that changes color with home ambiance and all 3 sides have doors with blumotion hinges.

Not a typical "tank stand". It was an old wine bar in the family room when I bought the house last year. Took out all of the shelves on top and underneath. Reinforced under the tank in the cabinet.
