I’m starting the fish room project this weekend, EEK! I have SO much stuff laying around. I was taking inventory to sell a bunch of it, and had the dangerous thought of what it would be like just to set it ALL up.

Sooo... I guess we’ll see what this mess turns into? Pretty excited :)

So I do have an empty room in the basement that is adjacent of the laundry room, which should make for easy auto water changes :) It happens to contain an empty 180 and 50 lowboy with various boxes of other equipment. I’ll plumb them into the same sump. Haven’t decided if I want to use one I already have, or look for a trough.

I took a few “before” pics but the whole mess looks too awful to share [emoji23] when I start moving things around and it looks like less of a hoarder situation I promise I’ll post the before and after!

Does anyone pump water from your salt mixing station upstairs to your DT or into the sump? IF SO what do you use

Sounds awesome- good luck with it!!

All righty - as promised, a few pics of the progress!

We had a fun weekend of drilling, plumbing, and mixing water, but she’s ready!

Went with a 50 lowboy from ZooMed, homemade stand, and I can’t remember where the sump is from. Still a ways to go before cycling is complete but I’m excited!

I have another small tank set up on the opposite wall for a QT, and I plan to set up one more for the same purpose. I’d also like to add a few more fun projects but haven’t settled on anything.

The room has also proven a great place to bring outdoor plants to for the winter.

We are also in the process of talking to contractors so this is a great thread for me to follow, lots of fantastic ideas.

I especially like the idea of plywood walls. Hubs and I could probably pull that off ourselves and save a lot of money, especially since the goal is functionality not beauty.

Following!
