Show me your rocks under 100% whites

No orange filters needed. I want to see it all. The ugly brown and green algae, pests, coralline, crustaceans, sponges, worms, and whatever else is hiding from you under your regular blue spectrum.

I've become a little obsessed with taking photos of my rocks under whites each week and looking them over on a bigger screen. There's a lot to discover if you can get close enough. I tend to mostly just ooo and ahhhh over the colors tbh. I took these while doing a WC today. This is Caribsea Life Rock aged a little over 4 months. I would love to see some real ocean rock macro shots!

They are 4-5 month old caribsea life rocks. Honestly I couldn't tell you what recipe to follow. This was my first time using dry rocks and my first saltwater tank in 8 years. I've been fumbling around and getting back into the swing of things this whole time. I went the bottled bac and load it up with frags in the first month route. I do dip and inspect, but obviously a lot of life made it through and colonized my rocks.

I am very relaxed about pest algae. I don't react quickly or harshly with chemicals and have tried to create a CUC that keeps it all at manageable levels. I'm guessing my rocks are heading in the direction of complete coralline coverage. Kinda exciting, but I'll miss all the diversity they have right now.

I picked up a CoralCare Gen2 recently. It's got some mega white blasting potential, so I'll update this weekend with some new pics.

Those are some really pretty dark greens and vibrant purples. I like the showpiece aiptasia as well.

My oh my, the coralcare certainly does show all.

My tank is pretty new and I’m dealing with all this algae, well the snails and crabs are anyway. It’s pretty orange with only white on the Prime, looks more white when I add some red green blue.

My lights weren’t on yet btw, that’s why the corals are deflated.

All my rocks are purple. They started bone white a couple years ago

For NEPat, who endlessly ribbed me for making spectrum claims I have this question for this crew: what specifically happens to your reefs if you leave the light this way, how would the reefs look after 3 months straight whites for example

Me? Gotta be somebody else. I don't recall ever arguing with anyone about spectrum.

Running a pico macroalgae tank so full spectrum is what I run over the tank. But it’s awesome to see all the critters and biodiversity on the rocks as this is usually hidden with our intense blue/purple LED’s. Great thread!
