Definitely. These fish literally graze from dawn till dusk in nature.
There was a question of the day poll a little while back on how frequently people provide nori/other algae based foods to their tangs

I was really surprised to see that over 60% of tang owners feed algae based foods less than once a day! I feed a big sheet of nori twice a day and sometimes I feel that isn't enough.
I don't want mine getting too big too fast so I'll keep them on a diet. One sheet every other day

This thread is goals!!! ❤️ We’re receiving two baby tangs this weekend (a yellow and a purple). Both are finishing quarantine this week. After a long four month wait to get our tank free of the velvet that wiped out all our fish, we’re super excited and planning on spoiling them rotten!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Vlamingi, Naso, chocolate, yellow, Dori, and bristle tooth. The vlamingi has to be almost a foot at this point.

Poor images in the blues and pre water change mix up so murky water but this is my obese Desjardini.

Shes about 8 inches top to tail and literally inhales a sheet of 10 x 10 nori - I sometimes turn away for a few seconds and wonder if i even put the clip in its gone so fast. Shes a pig.

A few years back had a few plump fish in 550 gals. FO. Here are the tangs that were in the tank:
- 2 Naso elegans males
- 2 Acanthurus pyroferus
- 1 Ctenochaetus tominiensis
