I love Orange Passions, probably one of my favorite acros. I've tried RRU and RRC Orange Passions, but found them to not be very colorful. Here's my shaded SC Orange Passion colony:

And here's another SCOP I started in full light (est. 450 PAR):

And here's my little RRA Ultimate Orange Passion which has a lot of potential:

I cant wait for mine to take off. Everyone elses looks awesome. When these have the right colors they are stunning!

Lots of people buy nice corals with the intention of making frags

Fair enough. It’s nice getting to see what something can look like when it grows large. I really want to see a colony of jaw dropper or hungs unbelievable. I’ve literally never seen anything beyond a hand full of polyps of those.

I once had a fairly large colony almost the size of a football.

Here is my SC Orange Passion that I bought through Battlecorals. It’s weird because it never encrusted much more than the frag plug and grew vertical. It’s approximately 7-8 inches tall, but only 4 inches wide.

What lighting? How much flow?

Mine do the opposite. Encrust FOREVER. A friend's tank has less flow and less lighting (leds vs my T5 with led bars) and his do exactly what you're describing. They grow vertical very quickly.

Who are you referring to?

Josh’s old tank. He took it down.
